Pediatric nurses deal with the needs of infants, children and adolescents. Pediatric Nurses have a mean annual salary of around $70,000. I want to pursue this career because I want to have a positive impact on kids. Radiologists interpret images such as X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, and MRIs. Radiologists earn an average salary of around $260,000 a year. This occupation interests me because I want to work in the healthcare field and it gives me the opportunity to help others. In order for me to be a Pediatric Nurse I need to obtain an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing, as well as a nursing diploma. A nursing bachelor's program usually takes 4-5 years to complete. You also must take a NCLEX exam to become a licensed registered nurse. To excel in this field there are additional exams available to prove your knowledge of nursing. Radiology requires a completion of a bachelor's degree program, medical school, as well as a residency. This career requires 4 years of medical school and a minimum of 4 years in in a radiology residency program. First, it is close to home and when I need help with anything I will have family nearby. Also, they have a good nursing program that will benefit me in my process of achieving my goal in the medical field. On average, people who graduate from UNCC start out in a job with a salary of up to $50,000 and that seems promising to me. If I don't further my education at UNCC, I would like to attend ECU. East Carolina is ranked as one of the best nursing schools. They offer a Clinical Lab Science program that will put me in a good place since it places you into a workplace throughout the course and enables you to learn hands on on with real patients.
