The teachers are no longer seen as basically the dispenser of knowledge but the one who directs the learners to track their own way to search answers to the question raised inside the classroom.

They can stay longer times in front of the computer, so that they can learn more than what is discussed in the four corners of the classroom.

Every chance or corner becomes a learning space. Learning takes place anywhere and this adds to the concept of flexibility learning environment. Students can still join discussion even they are not around; by the use of technology they can still learn. The library is not only a physical environment where they can read published books but also becomes virtual.

2.    Synchronous and Asynchronous Distance Education- Synchronous indicates at the same time it demands a live communication by online or teleconferencing, it facilitates a sum of interaction between professors and students. 

Asynchronous possess cluster of weekly deadlines, it provides students with the freedom to work as per your own will. Assignments and project are focused more because that fetches more time for the students to concentrate on their work.

3.    Open Schedule Online Courses- open schedule online courses, this come under the category of Asynchronous learning where students are given by with internet based textbooks, email and bulletin boards to finish their course work. They are provided by deadlines to complete their work.

4.    Computer Based Distance Education- students are required to meet in classroom or computer lab at a specified time every week. Students are not provided with an open schedule in this type of distance education.

5.    Fixed Time Online Course- this is the most common type of distance education. The students are need to log-in to their learning site at a designated time.

6. Hybrid Distance Education- it is a combination of synchronous and asynchronous in which the students are designated to follow the deadline for completing their work and they are permitted to complete their assignments on their own time and submit those assignments via online forum
