You are such a great teacher and person, I feel bad for the upcoming class not getting a chance to know you! They will definitely miss out 😂

I appreciate you for teaching me life lessons and how to be a good person. You have been a great resource to all students at O'B and I am glad that you were a part of my life. You have a special place in my heart and I wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors. I miss you so much.

I don’t want this to be a goodbye post. This is simply a, congratulation for retiring post! You have done so much for me as a teacher, a friend, and a father figure. I know we will stay in touch afterwards, but I never got to really thank you for everything you have done for me.

So, thank you so much, Mr. Francois. For pushing me in mathematics, for believing in me, and for being a father figure that I could rely on. You seriously have done more than I could ever thank you for. I want you to know that. I love you and I miss you. Every time I eat Biscoff, I think of you.

Please stay in touch. I know I will. You have become more than just a precalculus teacher to me. You have really become my father.

Hi Mr. Francois, it’s you’re all time favorite student here: Jannat :)). Although you’ve only taught me for a month, I wanted to let you know that you will be missed. I loved coming into class and exchanging jokes with you, you’re the only teacher that I truly looked forward to seeing everyday. Everyday in class you never failed to make me laugh or smile, im going to miss your sarcasm and unique jokes, especially your laugh. Even though, I rarely paid attention in class I really do appreciate the fact that you’d explain things twice so I can comprehend the lesson. I wish you were still here so I can give your gift but here’s a spiritual hug. You will be very missed, I hope your retirement is filled with peace <3.

Even though we just met this year, I want you to know that I appreciate our teacher-student relationship. I wasn’t too sure about sitting in the front of your class but it was definitely one of the best decisions.

thank you for always making class fun and always dealing with our nonsense. you really always did make math fun, and having you at the end of the day was such a nice way to end off the day. you always showed that you cared and that you would always help us if we needed anything. but also thank you for always baking and letting us try what you made, they were delicioussss. also thanks got always letting me use your microwave and eat in class. now go have fun and travel so you don’t have to deal with us anymore :)

Mr.Francoisssss, it’s saddd that you’re leavingggg because I legit stopped by and saw you a few months agooo, so when I heard you were leaving I was so sad.

Thank you though for everything for always feeding me in class, giving me your snacks when I didn’t have anything to eat or when I was hungry. Thank you for being a caring person and teacher even if sometimes I could not STAND YOU and you’re bullying. But I want to say thank you for pushing me, and giving me words of wisdom from Haitian to Haitian. Thank you for making me laugh whenever I would cry about not understanding the unit circle, or whenever I would come to you about life problems at home.

I just want to say Mr.Francois thank you so much for everything I will definitely miss your baking and your parties and your wisdom. Enjoy your retirement life and hopefully we bump into each other again in life.

Mr.Francoisss!!! I can honestly say out of my years at this school I feel as though you were one of the few teachers that actually cared. Although you were my teacher for a short period of time I truly enjoyed coming to your class and being in your presence as a student! You were able to make me laugh on the days that were tough and I greatly appreciate you for what you did during the time we shared together. I hope your new journey is filled with peace and happiness! Thank you for making this school year start off with good vibes. I will miss your presence in the school and all of the jokes you have lol. Hi Mr. Francois. Even though you taught me through remote learning last year for precalc honors, it has still been an honor to have you as a teacher. I genuinely appreciate how caring of a teacher you were and how you always motivated to always excell in your class. Hi Francois,

I can not being to express my deepest gratitude. You took me in without hesitation and accepted me as one of your very own students. Thank you for always always making time for me to get through high school math. I truly wished you were my teacher back in high school because you inspired me to be interested in math and to overcome my fear. Thank you for taking the time to sit with me every Wednesday to go through the GRE math section. Thank you for always providing such a safe space for me to freely express my answers without you ever belittling me.

You are definitely someone who inspired me and many students. Thank you. Thank you. I hope you enjoy your retirement because you deserve every single second of this. I was so disappointed when I found out you were not going to be my teacher anymore. I’ve known you only for several weeks and I was already loving your class. I loved the way you taught and how you were always open to questions. I also really appreciated your generous grading system, it shows that you care if we learn. Lastly, I thought your jokes were so funny and it’s a shame I won’t be able to hear another one of them again. :(

It’s Ariella. I wish you had come to school on Friday but I admire your want to stay home with family. Mr.Francois, thank you for your humor and the amount of effort you put into your classes everyday. It made me excited to be at school and learn during a hard time such as the pandemic. You were the first teacher to really believe in my math skills and make me feel confident about a subject I am now passionate about. Hearing about these news was sad but also really exciting for you! I was your student last year and it was difficult due to online learning but you gave me so much help which caused me to really be engaged in your class. Hello, Mr. Francois!! I know that I already sent you a little message but, I still have more to say!

I was super sad when COVID hit not only because my graduating class missed out on a lot of opportunities but also because I was really enjoying my time in the Math Club. I know I didn’t do any math and that I spent my time playing card games with your Co President but, I hold those memories close to me. I thought it was really funny when you would try to convince me to spend my time doing math.

Anyways, being in your class after school is one of the last memories I have in high school that was in person. Your presence only made those memories better. I always thought that you were super thoughtful considering how you often baked or brought in candy for everyone to share. It was you being kind like that, even though some may consider those small acts, that made me very found of you. You’re such a warm person and even after having a bad day, being in Math Club after school always made my day better.

Although I trust that you will continue to beautifully impact the people around you, I also hope that you get to rest for all the years you’ve spent working so hard. As my parents are immigrants, I appreciate every last thing that they’ve done for me despite how much harder it’s been on them. Similarly, I know it must’ve been hard to get to retirement for you but I respect you all the more for it. I’m all the more happy for you because of it. Thank you for everything sir!! Hey Mr.Francois it’s Melanie. Can’t believe you just left us like this lol. Although I only had you last year as an online teacher I still enjoyed joining your class to talk to you. When Covid hits, I was extremely sad that we couldn’t do the handshakes that you promised us for graduation. However, you promised that I will eventually get that so I know we will definitely see each other again :)

I also want to let you know, I still have your key from math club. I should return it (I know it’s the moral things to do) but I might just keep it forever as a souvenir. It holds many memories and laughter that I wished I can visit one last time.

This is a repetitive sentence, but is one that must be said. You always pushed me to become a better version of myself. You believed that I can do nursing. You had faith in me. How much you cared — no one ever encouraged and pushed me to go beyond like you did. So thank you. Thank you for everything, for feeding me when I’m hungry (these BPS school lunch are bad, you know that), for making jokes to brighten my day, for letting me sit next to Thuy An throughout high school. I am blessed to have you as my teacher and to know you.

You owe me two things Francois! A picture and a handshake. So I will see you again. This is not a goodbye 😊

I just want to say thank you again, and I want you to know how much of an impact you've made on each of your students. Each one of your students walked out with memories they've made in that class. You fought for us, you pushed us to be a better version of ourselves, and you believed in us.

Although I am sad to see you leave, this is what you want and what you need. Take the time you have now to enjoy and do all the things you didn't have the time to do before. Enjoy this moment of your life. This is just an end of a chapter, not the end of a book. I can't wait to see what your future holds, but I know, it would be something great and meaningful.

Congratulations on your retirement! You have done so much as a teacher, creating many beautiful memories with your students throughout the years. You've watched us struggle, grow, and succeed.
