Could it be on the introduction of a sentence crafting unit and how this has benefitted the outcomes of a larger majority of students? Includes more of a focus on targeted practice for a particular skill and how this is then assessed independently afterwards

I’ve noticed LO2 talks about impact on learners but my critical incident is about an incident between me and a parent. Is this still ok?

We have to use reflection methods? Is this open to our own choice or is there a particular method of reflection you are looking to see? I have always used the Gibbs Reflective Cycle when writing about critical reflection, so I have all the resources in place to re-use that if possible.

You do have to use a reflective method, it is your own choice. Use the week 10 slides to read up on these, Gibbs, Brookfield (who you looked at in summer) Kolb or Schon would all be suitable

Is there a requirement to use any resources, authors and references covered in previous lectures? I will re-read slides regardless to pick any new references and citations out but I know I'm lucky that I have a lot of resources from my degree about teaching in SEN that I could utilise.

If you want to use content we have covered from the professionalism session e.g. your responsibilities, working with parents etc that is great. You can also use any previous research you have or school policies if helpful

Hi is there a minimum required about of references and do we need to only use in the assignment and how many sources should we aim to use?

Is referring to school policies allowed in the assignment , ie approaches from the behaviour policy you would use in reflection of incidents?

There is not a minimum no of references but at least 1 per paragraph is good practice. You should list all that you use in the assignment in the reference list but it is not a bibliography of everything you have read if you do not use something.

Can I use reasons for choice of reflective model based on what I practice in school as PROACT instructor ie, I already do this because of my role and therefore influenced my choice?

Can we write in the first person, or do we have to refer to ourselves as the author or apprentice? In my previous course we had to write a critical reflection but never refer to ourselves in the first person which was strange.

You can write in first person if you wish

Will our qualification, reflect the standard of pass achieved? Will is just say pass regardless of us achieving a 40% or an 80%?

If you look at the rubric I will grade you a pass but it will say if it is a satisfactory, good, very good or excellent pass, and this will give you an indication of the quality of the work and grade boundary

Does the assignment have to be formatted in a particular way - e.g. double spaced using a specific font? Thanks

Is the Critical Report assignment to be completed on a word document and no specific template - just the usual writing layout. Do you want a title or sub-headings or just a flowing essay of paragraphs?

If I am choosing adaptive teaching as an area, do I be critical about the implementation? for example, I might implement a TA to sit with a child who has hearing impairment. Do I then evaluate the use of TA's in general (pro: child can get more attention, cons: cost too much money) and then mention the impact my TA had on this child when it comes to their learning? Again, stating the pros and cons if there are any.

Do you have any advice for checking Plagiarism? I was told some university allows to upload the essay on Turnitin once per assignment as a test, to see if it would pass the Plagiarism test...

If you go to Module Assignment and Submission folder on the module you will see an originality report check point where you can look at your percentage score for plagiarism. You want this to be as low as possible, ideally under 20%
