I fear sometimes when I use my "teacher voice" or get into teaching mode, I don't sound authentic. I am constantly checking myself to try to be more real, but it's harder than it sounds. It's like I have a habit of "teacher mode" that feels like a costume when I want to just be ME.

I used to think I shouldn't talk about my life outside of work in a professional setting to decenter myself. I would focus on attending to others and not share parts of myself in the spirit of honoring others more than myself. But instead people told me that they feel safer with me when they know me better, so I have been trying to balance and be more open about my own life in professional spaces.

There is a leader in my workplace that people are complaining about. I am friends with that leader, and I am kind of afraid of sharing their complaints with them (anonymously of course), but I think I should tell them because they should know so they can learn.
