They still did not listen and pay. When they got there The Ballarat soldiers also took a flag from the British and that is what really got the British soldiers attention.  They took the  flag of the Southern Cross. They decided to go to bakery hill because soon before it was discovered that there was gold in that area.  When the Ballarat citizens were at bakery hill they built stockade. They were hiding out there for a couple days with all the stuff they mined from digging over there.
