1. Archive and Recover- this is great if you teach the same course across years. You can easily go back, review assignments, see student strengths and weaknesses, and use that knowledge to modify assignments before using them with your current class.

2. Assign to specific students: This is a wonderful update to Google Classroom! Teaching mixed ability SPED and ESOL classes means constant modification and scaffolding. Now that can all be done behind the scenes and decrease embarrassment of students needing to explain why their work looks different from everyone else! This is also a great way to bolster students who need more of a challenge. If they don't know that the work they are getting is more challenging, then they are less likely to be lazy and not complete it. Love this feature!

3. Using posts in Multiple Classes: I teach more than one section of English III and this is a quick and efficient way to post the same assignment to multiple classes. I use this feature along with Move Assignment to top of Stream, for when one class moves more quickly than the other and I need to bring an older assignment to the top for a class who took longer to get there. It also makes it easier to post the assignment in one class, and then Re-Use and Assignment when the other class is ready- it makes it 1/2 the work for me because I don't need to re-add links, write out directions, etc.- it's all already there!

Archiving an old class and being able to retrieve it would be of great help when planning from year to year. If you teach Global one year then the following your you teach US you can archive the class and retrieve it if you ever teach that class again. Being able to post to multiple classes is a great help especially when you have 3 - 4 sections of the same class. Being able to assign specific students to a certain task can help with differentiation and with make up work that a student may need,

Assign posts to specific students.
I would use multiple assignments for the same class period for when certain students finish certain assignments before others. those students that are known for finishing early won't have time to sit and do nothing with another post assigned right to them.

Posting in multiple classes.
I would use the same assignment for multiple classes. Even with all of the classes being on the same pacing chart, certain classes will move slower or faster than other classes. Eventually the classes will be learning the same assignment or material even if it not on the exact same day. this will be helpful in saving time and not posting the same assignment over and over again.

Posting questions.
I would post questions for bell work everyday. This is easier than hand writing questions each day or handing out bell work slips each day. This will also save time in the classroom.
