A little quiet/mellow zone would have been appreciated as an alternative to the exhibitors space, somewhere you might still be able to have a quiet conversation or connect with other conference goers. I got so much paper in my rego pack and from exhibitors. It was heavy to lug around and much of it went straight to the bin. The most useful piece of paper however was the schedule, I needed that to work out if I could zip around to all the different sessions I wanted to see! The app was great but because I ducked in and out of different concurrent sessions I had to keep clicking around in app, it was easier on the paper schedule. • The conference papers were great; I wish I could have made more sessions... maybe let's make it a fortnight next time, yeah?
• The conference program was nice and compact. I also loved the app. It was incredibly helpful - although I didn't like the privacy settings (or lack thereof) where it showed our details including address and phone number!
• Speaking of tech; the charging stations, whose idea were they!? What a GODSEND!
• #CATSofAPLIC were an innovative way for introverted library profs to engage and make new connections - really appreciated, Cool Cats!
• The freebies were off the chart this conference - FREE BOOKS!!!? What a sensational experience
• Also, I appreciated the amount of cool reusable bags.

APLIC IMPROVEMENTS
• I was disheartened by the amount of paper - so much waste. I haven't yet thought of an alternative, though.
• Perhaps an informal mentorship meet up between first timers and veterans - like a reception or similar - so there're some friendly faces for newbies throughout the conference

I received at least 20+ emails from vendors before the conference which I did not like! I have no purchasing power within my organisation so this wasn't very helpful to me. I understand that vendors are necessary to make conferences like this happen, but I think they could have taken a better approach to engaging people. I liked chatting to vendors at the conference, but I did not appreciate the unsolicited emails. ALSO one vendor called me at work both pre and post conference!!! This is the only conference I have been too where there was nowhere to eat! And the vendors were tucked away, perhaps they could have been out the front - this is how it has been at higher ed conferences I have attended in the past.
