You wasted a lot of time trying to build that make shift snow board, when James said early on that Grief had taken every ones skis early on in the book. You should have hunted for them before you started your investigation to other floors, which got you caught and made you go through a dangerous escape. I believe that now that you've escaped you should go back up with the special forces team. They need a guide through the school and you would probably be safer with them than without.   • Nuclear Transplantation - "what do you know about nuclear transplantation ?" (Horowitz 207). It is the fancy name for cloning, which the main villain in the story so that he can take over the world.
  • Assimilate - "To assimilate. To conform...to adapt...to become like."(Horowitz 136). The people that are in charge of the school make it seem like they are having the boys all become well mannered but they are actually replacing them.
  • Snooker - "don't try playing snooker."( Horowitz 142). The table is at a slight angle because the floor is uneven, and Alex will later find an exact copy of the room in an upper level.

There is a disc, that when played, turns into a diamond edged saw that Alex uses to make a snow board to escape with. The mystery comes from Alex having to figure out if the death of two high ranking men is connected by there sons at all. The SCI-FI aspect is from the fact that the sons are actually replaced with clones who are altered to look like them.
