AI can help them with remember and understand, but they may not learn much. After that, students should be applying and analyzing more. Move up through taxonomy. Gradually release responsibility and have students take more ownership of their work.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Perplexity.ai">Perplexity.ai</a> pulls from authentic sources that can be trusted (good for curriculum development)</p><p><br></p><p>Can maybe use this to generate lesson plans and instructional design that supports more hands-on learning in English classes???</p><p><br></p><p>If it gives you an article, it will be a fake article, so replace it with a required reading that you trust</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>AI cannot critically think:&nbsp;</p><p>Humans must design assignments that AI cannot generate:&nbsp;</p><p>-Use higher level Bloom’s Taxonomy (create, evaluate, analyze)</p><p>-personal situations</p><p>-implement an activity and reflect on professional experiences</p><p>-conduct research and use data analysis</p><p>-classroom studies</p><p><br></p><p>RUBRICS:</p><p><br></p><p>Ask a follow up after creating a lesson</p><p>Ask it to have the levels and criteria</p><p><br></p><p>Student use of AI:</p><p><br></p><p>“You may use AI to help you research and generate ideas for the content for this assignment. Please ensure ethical use of the AI generated content is 1) accurate, 2) from a credible source, 3) applicable to your project, 4) how this AI generated information impacts your thinking, and 5) edit what AI generates to fit your presentation. Add on paragraph on how you used AI to assist you with this assignment.”</p><p><br></p><p>Purdue Owl has information on how to cite AI.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>If you have assignments that you love, you can ask AI to clean those assignments up.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>DIFFERENTIATING</p><p><br></p><p>Student choice:</p><p>written papers</p><p>oral presentations</p><p>podcasts</p><p>AI assisted data analysis</p><p><br></p><p>Accommodations:</p><p>Accessibility accommodations can easily be done through generating captions for lectures or text to speech. AI can adjust difficult and pace of course materials based on each student’s progress, ensuring that all students are appropriately challenged.&nbsp;</p><p>* Can struggling readers use things like Diffit to participate in higher level texts?</p><p><br></p><p>Language Support:</p><p>For diverse classrooms, AI can offer multilingual assistance and translation services, making content more accessible to non-native speakers. AI can also convert a primary language to English.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Challenges and Opportunities:</p><p>-Project base learning that builds weekly</p><p>-Questions for understating</p><p>-Exit tickets</p><p>-Use creativity to design professional flyers, infographics, write a blog or podcast</p>]]></description>
