Prompts should be:

Concise: grade, subject, etc.

Logical: structure and flow

Explicit: clear, overview, objectives, instructions, submission requirements

Adaptive: balance between creativity and details - differentiate instruction, give 3 presentation choices

Reflective: write down specifics that work with your prompt like work choice

Move students through Bloom’s taxonomy. AI can help them with remember and understand, but they may not learn much. After that, students should be applying and analyzing more. Move up through taxonomy. Gradually release responsibility and have students take more ownership of their work. 

Perplexity.ai pulls from authentic sources that can be trusted (good for curriculum development)

Can maybe use this to generate lesson plans and instructional design that supports more hands-on learning in English classes???

If it gives you an article, it will be a fake article, so replace it with a required reading that you trust

AI cannot critically think: 

Humans must design assignments that AI cannot generate: 

-Use higher level Bloom’s Taxonomy (create, evaluate, analyze)

-personal situations

-implement an activity and reflect on professional experiences
