Wow... what kind of time frame are we talking about? It sure has changed. Media consumption was much more deliberate and slow when I was younger. Now, it's non-stop and on the go. You can also engage with it through comments etc. Both are good and bad in my opinion. I think now we consume so much that we don't take enough time to truly reflect on what we are consuming. It's often just onto the next consumption with maybe a quick half thought out comment added to the comment section. JF 2/3

We have ongoing conversations in class regarding media and the influence it can have on our day to day living, how we see ourselves and each other. It's important to be critical thinkers and always keep in mind what is being sold (product, ideas, beliefs). RC Gr 8

I think that it is important to identify what this is at different stages in life and the positive and negative impacts it can have on one's wellbeing. I also believe it is important to look at how we are using or applying the information that is being consumed to enhance one's personal learning journey or is it hindering it? AF 2/3

One of my goals this year is to help transition students from media consumers into media creators. Hopefully that skill will stick with them beyond this year and help them to be active creators. EB 3

-Difficult finding balance with the amount of media that is constantly available.

- Now more than ever we need to be critical of the validity of information. -Checking multiple resources for accurate data.

-Being aware that everything comes from a personal bias as well as persuasive and false language is essential to balancing the consumption that our world requires to function and succeed.

Media is a great tool to get information quickly, connect with friends and family. What we should teach kids is to use it effectively, analyze and be critical when using social media..don’t believe everything you see and hear.
