     Every day was the same for the prince of the end. Every day meant a new suitor for him to potentially marry. But he didn't want to marry yet. He wanted to see the world, meet new people,and do things. But every day brought about the same routine, and sometimes it was comforting to be able to know what was gonna happen, like the lyrics to a well known song. When he was 13, he ran away from his parents and built a small house in the woods. Ever since that day, the house was his safe place, a place where he could be himself. Today was different though, because today was the day he met Tubbo.

   "Pearl! You can come out now girl," I called, as a small black and white cat came out of the bushes, "Hey there little one," I said as she curled up in my lap. A few moments later, she jumped up, fur bristling, and started growling at the bushes. I grabbed my axe, and started slowly edging towards it. Pearl neared the bushes, and a goat boy popped out of them and grabbed her. "Thank you so much for finding Bee! I've been looking for her everywhere!," he said stroking her now sleek fur. "I-i'm sorry? That is my cat. And her name is Ender-pearl," I said, staring him dead in the eyes. Well, not really, because his hair was covering them. "Really?," He said,sounding unconvinced. "Yes, she is my cat. I have a house near here, and that's where she stays at night," I shot back,gesturing towards my house. "Oh. I'm sorry," He said, looking at his hooves. "I'm Ranboo," I said, holding out my hand. "Prince Tubbo. You can just call me Tubbo though," He said, shaking my hand. " Y-you're a prince too?" I asked, a little shaken up, "Yeah, you know how it goes. Parents want you to marry some airheaded princess and become king. You don't want to marry a princess, so you run away to the woods," He said, sitting down on the ground. 'There's someone who understands me. The strangest thing happened today. I met an Enderman. He was really tall and pretty. He had Bee for some reason, but it turns out she belongs to him. He's also a prince, like me. He apparently built the little house in the woods when he was 13 to get away from his parents and all of the crazy princesses they want him to marry. Now here's where it gets confusing. When he told me this, I felt like I could tell him anything! It feels so weird to have another person who understands what being a prince is like. But now for some reason, whenever I think about him, my stomach does all these crazy flips, and it feels like I swallowed butterflies (and yes, I know what that feels like from experience. It is not an enjoyable feeling). Is this what it feels like when you make a friend? I wouldn't know; I've never had a new friend before. Well, I do have Tommy, but we've known each other since we were born. I don't know how to feel about this goat prince. Whenever I look at him,my thoughts start spinning and I can't seem to think straight (literally). What is this feeling, and why? I've never had a friend before, so that might be the case here. I would ask my mom, but I don't know how she would feel about me meeting a human. I think I'll just keep this to myself for now. She doesn't exactly know about the house in the woods either. I mean, she knows about me running away to the woods, but nothing about the house or Enderpearl. Is it bad that I kinda want to see him again? I sat down in the grass and waited. "Where is he?" I thought to myself, pulling up little clumps of grass and throwing them as hard as I could. "He came here every day on time, so why not today?" I thought, lobbing another grass hunk in the air. "Hey, sorry I'm late, there was this one girl, and-" He was cut off by the clump of grass flying into his mouth. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry. I didn't hear you coming, and I-." He pulled the grass out of his mouth and laughed, with me soon joining in. He sat on the ground next to me, long legs crossed together. We sat like this for a while before I piped up and asked, "Do you know how to dance?"  "Yeah, why do you ask?" he said, looking back at me. "Well, my parents are hosting a party next week, and I never learned how, so I thought you could teach me,"  I explained, hoping he wouldn't see through me. "Sure, if you want me to," he said and stood up. Did I know how to dance? Yes. Was I just trying something out? Yes. Do I think he's pretty? This is shameful to admit, but yes. He grabbed my hands and started leading me through the steps, occasionally wincing because I stepped on his toes. (I never said I was good at dancing, I said I knew how.) We sat there for a couple of minutes and stared at the trees. "Do you know how to dance? ," he asked, breaking the silence. " Yeah, why do you ask? " I said back. " Well, my parents are hosting a party next week, and I never learned how, so I thought you could teach me?" He explained. " Sure, if you want me to," I said, standing up. He looked at me with bewilderment (for some reason) and stood up and grabbed my hands. I slowly guided him through the steps, wincing as small hooves stepped on my feet. This is where it gets kinda weird.  I sat in my room and stared at the ceiling. "What did he do that for?"  I said to myself. "Who did what?" my mother asked, poking her head into the doorway. "Well, you know how I go to the woods sometimes?" I asked as she nodded."There's this boy, he's nice and pretty, but whenever I'm around him, I feel like I swallowed butterflies." I explained quickly. "Tubs, I think that's called being in love." she said, taking my hand in hers."Interesting because he um- he kinda kissed me." I said sheepishly, as she went slightly pale. "To be honest, I wasn't expecting that, but good for you! " she said, looking over at my now red face. "Thanks for talking with me about it," I said quietly. "You can talk to me about anything, ok?" she said as I stood up to leave. I walked down the hall, past the portraits of judgy-looking dead people, and past the war room. I heard cheering and clapping, glasses clinking, and soon, my father. " I've called you here today to celebrate some very exciting news," he said, silencing the small crowd. "I've called you here today because we have successfully killed the queens of the end," he said, accompanied by a roar of excitement. I asked, looking around to pure darkness. "I'm in front of you, but don't worry about that, just focus on my voice." He said. " O- Ok. " I stuttered out nervously. "What are 5 things you see?" he asked. " The darkness, your outline, enderpearl, my bed, and the door?" I responded, slightly confused. "Good. Now what are 4 things you feel?" he asked again, grabbing my hands. "Your hands, the burns on my arms and face, the floor, and the wall," I said, still confused. "What are 3 things you taste?" he asked. "Blood, salt, and dust." I said with a sigh." 2 things you smell?" he asked, rubbing small circles on my hands. " My skin burning and air, I guess?" I said with an annoyed sigh. " This is the last one, I promise. What is one thing you hear?" he said, looking around. "Your voice?" I said, feeling oddly relaxed. "What did you just do to me? What kind of sorcery is this? Why do I feel calm all of a sudden?" I asked suspiciously. "That's called a grounding exercise," he said with a slight giggle. He comes to visit his dad and brothers at the palace," he said, nodding. I think he was about to say something else, but Techno cleared his throat and said, "Guys! Thank you for the introduction, but I'm gonna cut to the chase. As you both know, the queens of the end are dead, so prince Ranboo, being the only heir to the throne has to take their place. I hate to say it, but Ranboo, you're gonna have to come with me." he said, gesturing towards me. " Techno, please. I don't know what I'm doing and my parents are dead. I really can't right now." I said with a sigh. "Ranboo." he said, "This is important. The end has no ruler as of right now. I normally would let everything fall into chaos, but this is what Phil- er your parents would have wanted." he said, staring at me. "Who's Phil?" I asked, looking at Tubbo. "Techno's adoptive father," he answered cheerfully as Techno's face drained of color. "What does Phil want with me?" I asked again. Techno sighed and said, "You're not supposed to know this kid, but Phil and my brothers are working on uniting the End and the human world. Another thing Tubbo, your dad died last night. Phil killed him." I heard Techno say. I sat there in shock for a moment, then said, " Eh. I never liked him anyway. He did have me executed that one time." Techno looked at me sheepishly as Ranboo screamed, "WHAT? HE DID WHAT?" "Yeah," I said lifting my bangs, revealing the scars on my face. Techno looked like he was gonna be sick. "BUT WHY?!" Ranboo asked, pulling his hair. "Well, he found out I was helping Wilbur and Tommy with a plot to overthrow him, and he forced Techno to kill me," I explained with a shudder. I looked over at Techno, who was pinching the bridge of his nose." Thanks for the life story Tubbo, but we need to get going now." he said, edging towards Ranboo, who was standing up now. He looked at me sadly and said, " Goodbye Tubbo. I hope we meet again someday." then he walked out the door, Techno not far behind. I watched as they grew smaller and smaller as they grew closer to the ender portal. I slowly slid down to the ground and held my head in my hands. He was gone.
