It brightens up their day, it shows them diversity in learning from new people and experiences. My sister in law is a Bio-chemist and I would love to have her come into my classroom one day and do experiments and tell my students what it is like to be a female scientist. I truly believe that this will teach and it will inspire!

Making sure to give them an opportunity to give an explanation to test questions instead of a simple fill in the blank is an example. This is a place where you can learn a lot about your students relationships to teaching and each other. Students who work with their peers are essentially going over the content more than once and therefore will retain the information batter for assessments.
