M&S supermarket
M&S’s full name is Marks & Spencer. It was built since 1884, 132 years ago. They have 914 store in the UK, 222 their own and 349 special on food store. However, our group visited M&S in Brent Cross and we looked at Own-Brand Products, Brand Stretching and Advertising and Promotion.
M&S products value mostly are standard and high quality. Moreover their brand has many type of product such as foods, clothes, house equipment, drink, internet serves financial serves and not only store, but also they sell online in UK and internationally. Based on our observations we think their target group are housewives, and older people and average people mostly buy a few products because the go to shop by bus. A good design of packaging compare with Tesco and import brands. Moreover, in the part of specials which they short-cut the product costing ( buy 2 for 3 ). In addition, some products are temporary price reductions such us chocolate and wines (25% discount ) . The products pricing quiet similar including a part of food, meal, vegetables, daily life equipment compare with Tesco because a high completion.

Tesco supermarket
On 13th of July 2016, we went to Tesco. We found some products different form M&S. Tesco’s products have low price to middle price, no expensive things in it. For example, meat and sausages: the prize is cheaper, the packing are look simple, in the medium quality. Next, their chocolates don’t have many types. And the prize are lower than M&S. The packaging is so simple. Tesco have a little own chocolate products, however, M&S has a lot of chocolates by themselves. They have many own-brands for meal. Such as food& vegetable, sausage& rice and so on. That are already to eat. The price is too cheap, you can buy one meal for lunch only cost £1-2.

Sainsburys
On 13th of July 2016 we visited Sainsbury supermarket in order to evaluate some of their products and the way that they display them.
After our research we have a few conclusions about their products. Most of their try to copy famous brands, looking similar in the cover but they sell them cheaper. Sometimes they have more flavors than the famous brand, making the customer more interested in their products. they display it next to the main brands and the consumer can compare.
For example, I checked the brand "Chocolate and Love" in their dark chocolate variety, it was 3 pounds for the chocolate bar, whereas on the same shelf, Sainsbury’s own brand dark chocolate, with similar designs and same ingredients, was £1.50 which is half price of the branded chocolate.

In Sainsburys, the way of attract consumers in offering two for one products, making it cheaper for the buyer, and in the same way, they sell more. These big brands try to sell as much as possible, offering reduces prices in some products, and they put the products on the front of the aisle making the consumer fell that is buying cheaper than anywhere.
Also, in the same supermarket, they have clothes for men women and kids, fresh, frozen food, home staff, electrical, digital media, and mobile phones, own bank and pharmacy.

M&S
On 13th of July 2016 We visited M&S and found some different products, such as sausages, dark chocolate and meal-deals.
First, the sausages in is have 7 different prices and quality. The local sausages is 8 LINCOLNSHIRE PORK SAUSAGES, it is £2.30. However, the other brand sausages is 6 OLDE ENGLISH FARMHOUSE SAUSAGES, it is £3.20. The other brand packing is better than M&S brand sausages. The ingredients is all have porks. So, M&S sausages is better than others.
Second, there have 15 different kind of dark chocolate. The M&S chocolate is New Dark Chocolate seed mix. The other brands price is more than M&S.The other brand packing is very delicate, but the M&S chocolate packing is humble. The M&S ingredients is same. The quality I think the M&S is good.
Finally, , there have 6 different kind of meal- deals. The other brand meal price is more than M&S.The M&S meal-deals is contain food, wine gifts and hampers. The others packing is better than M&S. The other brand ingredients is abundant. The other brand and M&s quality is all good.
In the M&S is all fresh food. Some meat food is in frozen. The bottled and tinned food is less than other. There is lots of meat food and drink product.
In my opinion, the M&S product is more than other brands, and other M&S product is most of fresh and frozen.

Aldi
Our group went to Aldi in 13th of July 2016 yesterday afternoon. We found out some information about the supermarket. Firstly, this supermarket complete range of commodities and you may choose things conveniently, Specifically, we can buy many foods, such as meat, vegetables and fruit. And then, we saw most of the customers were elderly or families. We did not see students that were the as same age as us, perhaps because there is no school or university nearby. Moreover, the goods were cheaper than other supermarkets, such as Marks＆Spencer, and many goods were discounted. This supermarket sells not only foods, but also some cheap clothes and shoes. We did not see any advertisements. There were no staff guiding people to find products.

M&S
Britain's largest clothing retailer, and food sales also accounted for a large proportion. Most of the stores with sales of clothing and food, and Marks & Spencer also began to sell products for the home, such as bedding fabric. Ordinary people will not go to M&S to buy vegetables and meat, the price of food in M&S is more expensive.
The environment of M&S is really good. There are flowers on sell in the entrance. It makes customer feel suitable. Most of the price of food is expensive. But there are also some sale in it. One box of fruits cost 2.8 ponds but if you buy 2 boxes it only cost 5 ponds. The cooked food 3 for 7 ponds.
Most of the customers are adults such as old people, housewife. We did not see the students buy things in the market.

Sunny ，Crixus，Yumeko
Tesco 13 ofJuly，2016
We entered into the Tesco, firstly, we found it mainly offered foods, houseware, books, flowers and so on. We found the discount goods were on the obvious position of the shelves and which was put a yellow price tag in the middle of goods. Such as washing liquid, roller papers. They are cheap. Also，we found there were some promotion price tag around the goods， it showed ”any 2 for 2 pounds”.

And there were numerous products which belonged to Tesco self-brand, for example，Tesco value， Tesco finest，Tesco organics，Tesco living ，etc. They provided differentiate sorts of products and had clear label on the packaging. We observed Tesco’s own brand “finest”， this brand’s porker sausages price was 2 pounds per 400 G. Their date was fresh . It looked like good quality with other brands. And we compared the Tesco self-brand’s black chocolate with others, there were about 3 kinds of chocolate , each was 1.49 pounds, which was cheaper than other brands, however， their outlook was not attractive because the packaging was too simple.

Moreover， we found most of consumers shopping there were females，and their ages were at least 30 years old. We found Tesco provided some different products like car insurance ，Tesco-own bank card and mobile phones by the indenpendent parts of the supermarket.
