         <description><![CDATA[<p>Pay…especially in regions like the NE where we can drive shorter distances to Virginia than to schools in our own county and have the ability to make ten or twenty thousand or even more in a salary. The state should fund pay increases based on regions. This shouldn’t be left to counties to fund. </p>]]></description>

Often the rural school doesn’t have the knowledge, or know how for unique medical and academic needs. Rural schools need a resource lending library, and need access to professional support for circumstances they haven’t experienced before.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Smaller classroom sizes , bring back masters pay , I have two masters and I don’t get any compensation for it . </p><p>Also we’re not special education teachers and we have overwhelming students with disabilities, as a regular ed teacher we don’t have the training or support to probably teach them and we have so many behavior issues and no help or supports from admin or special education teachers . </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I feel that technology is being used more and more these days in place of literacy- physically writing and reading. Students complain about writing a few sentences because their hands get tired, but not when they are on their computers. When they have poor reading or writing skills, it impacts their performance throughout all subjects. I feel a potential solution could be going old school- writing majority of the time. It helps students understand the content they’re learning about better, it comprehensions, and helps them retain information better.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

There are early interventionists (whom I hold dear to my heart) for literacy but there is not a program designed for mathematics. We are telling our community that it’s okay that you can’t do math, you can read though. </p><p>Solution: early mathematics specialists that mirror the literacy framework. </p><p><br/></p><p>Shout out to the ELS teams- you are doing amazing work! </p>]]></description>
