         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think it is important to realize that there are multiple types of questioning that increase in difficulty.&nbsp;<br>It is also important to understand that Text Dependent Questions doesn't necessarily mean the answer is found directly in the text. They can be inference questions where the text leads or gives clues to the answer. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>"The overall intent of asking text-dependent questions is to build a habit of critical thinking, and critical thinking should lead to thoughtful critical analysis."&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>"But everyone must also thoroughly understand the author’s position to critically analyze it."<br><br>In third grade, I teach and require students to write the page where they found his/her answer to a question. We discuss meanings of paragraphs and why the author may have included the specific information. &nbsp;<br><br>We need to teach students to be critical and analyze what they're reading.&nbsp;<br><br>Following the herd is not what we want them to be like as adults.</div>]]></description>
