The building consisted of the main Church, dedicated to St. Francis, and a chapel - the Third Order of Penance. The covento formerly was an orphanage and soon after it underwent renovations in the electrical installation and the structure of the wood, besides the general painting, the building happened to house all the administrative part of the Archdiocese.
Nowadays, the Convent of San Francisco functions as a place of visitation, and is much sought after by tourists who are interested in the historic goods of Capixabas.

O alpendre (avarandado) em arcos que vemos hoje é uma reconstrução feita na década de 1950.
No interior há uma exposição permanente com peças que fazem parte da estrutura e ajudam a contar a história. 
No Convento também tem monitores para recepcionar os visitantes. Eles percorrem todas as áreas e mostram cada um dos detalhes. Está preservada também a Capela de Nossa Senhora das Neves, construída no século XVIII, que serviu de capela mortuária até 1908, quando foi inaugurado o Cemitério Municipal de Santo Antônio. Você acredita se eu te disser que eles encontraram ossos escondidos, ou enterrados nas paredes da capela? E isso é a pura verdade!!

 Belíssima fachada
Infelizmente o que sobrou do complexo original (que possuía igreja, mosteiro, cemitério) foi apenas sua fachada em estilo jesuítico. Mas só ela já vale a passagem, pois está bem conservada e é bem bonita.

A fachada do antigo convento parece uma paisagem fora da cidade e fica lindo nas fotos! O lugar tem uma capela que já foi cemitério e é bem curioso visitar!

Obrigatório no roteiro histórico do centro de Vitória
Tem uma arquitetura muito rica. Uma estrutura de visitação muito boa, com guias excelentes que contarão com propriedade a história daquele lugar e um pouco da história do ES.

The Convent of San Francisco had undergone some reforms during the time, being the principal ones occurred in 1744 and 1784, changing the Jesuit style of straight lines went to baroque colonial style, using adornments and scrolls.
It was registered as state patrimony in 1984 by the State Council of Culture.
