Anyone who lives in York, is aged 7-25 and has SEND is welcome to take part.

This project stemmed from young people wanting adults to not make assumptions about their communication abilities based on their disability.

The Access4All young people’s group (now merging to become our new York SEND Youth Forum), made up of a range of young people from across secondary schools in York, have designed this campaign from start to finish and would like to share these key messages with you:

  • understand young people's communication preferences

  • know that young people can speak for themselves if they wish to

  • remember, everyone’s different, but I’m my own expert so please talk to me
