         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>As fun and interesting genetics is as a topic, it can get tricky and complex all at once, drowning you. The genetic problem sets really made me think twice about life while answering. The terms all in all were somewhat easy to grasp, however, the application of the concepts was a sticky mess for me. I’ve watched a couple YouTube videos alongside the lecture ones to really engrave the topic in my mind.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>What are your key takeaways from this module? Summarize it in 2-4 paragraphs.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>DNA is a part of us, it defines us. This is the genetic material passed from a parent to then an offspring. Remember, not just humans, this is applicable for all life. Each sequence shed light to relationships amongst living things. Evolution became even clearer, as we all know all the organisms’ genome was sequenced, hence, showing the changes and development throughout time.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div><br>Who would’ve thought that pea plants would be the key to the fundamental laws of inheritance. Well, Gregor Mendel truly thought so. According to him, genes do come in pairs, and are inherited as distinct units, one from each parent. Through this concept, the parental genes’ segregation was tracked, alongside their appearance in the offspring, labeling it as dominant or recessive traits. As this progressed, Mendel’s Laws of Heredity was then born. The Law of Segregation, with this, it is said that offsprings are able to inherit one genetic allele once sex cells come together during fertilization from both their parents. The Law of Independent Assortment says that the genes allocated for different traits are organized in their own groups making the inheritance of a trait not dependent on the other inheritance. Lastly, The Law of Dominance, when the genes of an organism have alternate forms, the form that’ll show is the dominant one.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>What are the things that you used to think before that were changed/modified because of the module? </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>To start on a lighter note, after this module, I’ve definitely thought of peas as something so prestigious now. As if peas were like a cheat code to decoding how genetics became clear. DNA and the concept of genetics were also introduced to us even before but in the sense of&nbsp; “Kamukhang kamukha ang papa mo!”, “Nakuha ang ilong ng ina niya”, which, yes, somewhat explained that, our DNA is composed of two combined genetics of our parents, very easy to grasp by a kid’s ears. Now, in Grade 11 General Biology, all what I’ve learned from Junior High School Science definitely helped to grasp concepts easier, alongside my knowledge from General Biology last semester.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
