I can prove this because the text states, "“What else a man got ’cepting what he can pass on to his son, or his daughter, if she be his oldest?” Lemon Brown said." The text also states, "Him carrying it around with him like that told me it meant some thing to him. That was my treasure, and when I give it to him, he treated it just like that, a treasure. Ain’t that something?” These are both proving this by giving great examples of Lemon Brown's own personal relationship between his son and why it was meaningful.

I know this because the text stated, "Him carrying
it around with him like that told me it meant some thing to him.
That was my treasure, and when I give it to him, he treated it just
like that, a treasure." This evidence helped to explain that the harmonica mean't a lot to Lemon because his son treated it with respect. Another piece of evidence is, "What else a man got ’cepting what he can pass on to his son, or his daughter, if she be his oldest?” This evidence explained that its very important for a person to pass a valuble object onto the next generation.

The author is trying to explain that the word treasure can have any value, not just a value to others but a value to oneself. In the text it states, " “Every

man got a treasure. You don’t know that, you must be a fool!”

“Sure,” Greg said as he sat on the sofa and put one leg over

the back. “What do you have, gold coins?” This shows how at the begining of the text Greg does not take Lemon seriously of his treasure and is kind of making fun of it in his sarcasum. The text also states, "Him carrying it around with him like that told me it meant some thing to him. That was my treasure, and when I give it to him, he treated it just like that, a treasure. Ain’t that something?” “Yeah, I guess so,” Greg said." This explains how at the end of the text Greg now somewhat understands the value of his treasure, not that it has a value to him, but a value to Lemon, in which the memories matter the most.

According to the text, "“I traveled around, and one time I come home, and there was this letter saying Jesse got killed in the war. Broke my heart, it truly did." This evidence is reliable because Lemon's son died and he had all of Lemon's treasure. Lemon's son treated it just like treasure. According to the text, "he treated it just like that, a treasure. Ain’t that something?” This shows how Lemon's treasure is important to him and how treasure isn't always gold coins,
it can be relationships.

The theme is how treasure is different for everyone, and the author shows us this by multiple ways. Not only did both rascals and Greg think it was wealth of sorts but compared to them Sir Lemon Brown valued his relationships.
The theme with treasure coming in many variations is developed by showing what Greg thought treasure was like and then what Sir Lemon thought it was. Greg first thought it was just money or some form of wealth which is shown by him saying, "What do you have, gold coins?" As he assumes Sir Lemon's treasure is coin's he proves the fact that in his mind treasure is only something with monetary value. Compared to him Sir Lemon brown assumes it as relationships. This is shown by, "That was my treasure, and when I give it to him, he treated it just like that, a treasure." This shows how he treasured his past and how he worked hard for his family. He did his best for his family and passed everything down to his son, and then his son treasured it as well. So then it simply became his treasure when his son died due to honoring their sacred relationship of son and father. Treasure for him was not the money, it was the relationship and memories. Since we did not finish. (Arianna can also be credited as this is a refined version of our old one)
