Greenpeace has 3 simple rules:

-Direct and non-violent actions

-scientificity

-independence

If you respect these rules you can be part of the group of Greenpeace.

Actually the director is Kumi Naidoo. 

 Some of the states that are part of it are Australia, Belgium, Italy, China, Mexico and many more. 

The current fleet is made up of Rainbow Warrior lll, Esperanza, Arctic Sunrise, Beluga ll, Argus and Sirius.

In my opinion I find very nice and brave the work that greenpeace does and I hope that in the years to come he can defeat, even if to a small extent the global warming. But for this to happen we have to help them too.

The idea for the Sea-watch project was born in 2014 when more than a thousand people died in the Mediterranean.

In spring 2015 they bought an old cutter and rebuilt it for use in sea. With the help of volunteers they have succeeded saving thousands of lives.

Volunteers provide them with their knowledge and skills in shipping and medicine.

Their crews consist of navigators, physicians and mechanics.

They always take journalists with them on the mission to document the situation and make it accessible to the public.

Sea-watch has several projects, one of them is the “MOONBIRD”: more than 100 refugees and migrants were rescued on Easter after they were spotted by a connaissance airplane car from any rescue ship.

Another project is Mediterranea/Mare JONIO: while some activists were fighting for the release of Sea-Watch 3, others were planning of the Italian Mediterranea sea rescue project.

The result of this work is the mission of the Mate JONIO off the Libyan coast.

It was founded by Deborah Dee Sabbata in 2017, she has proposed to Alessia,Ilda,Max and Joanna, young entrepreneurs to create a team to communicate with the millennial generation.
They decided to create something pratical that everyone can do to help:” ripuliamo udine”,a project where they  clean the streets of Udine from cigarettes.

It is a team based on values like:love,freedom,hope,reward,family,respect,equality,sustainability.

Their goals are: demonstrate with facts that our generation can make the difference,to sensitize people on environmental respect and to make people aware that every action of ours has a consequence.

Their name is y-revolution because all of them are considered members of a generation called y-generation  (from 1901 to 2000)

Their motto is: if we all improve we can improve the world(se tutti miglioriamo possiamo  migliorare il mondo) that’s because if we change our attitude,we can change the world  for a better future.

According to a new report the world’s largest polluters  of seas and oceans are plastic and cigarettes.

While government and companies  like Starbucks are trying to reduce the use of plastic the problem of cigarettes isn’t taken into consideration that much.

Maybe not all of you know that every year 10.000 billions cigarettes are thrown away.

They contain 4000 toxic substances and they take 10 years to decompose which is insane.

The citzens of Udine were really happy to see the y-revolution project ,they applauded and many stopped to know who they are.

We must help this good cause.To do it we should buy “il sacchetto del consumatore consapevole” where we can find sustainable products for our homes or ourselves care we also can partecipate  to “ripuliamo Udine days”.

At the “ripuliamo Udine days” there are usually 15 people, they collect 10.000 cigarettes.

They are trying to expand their project in Rome and Anversa.

 Until now they have received a lot of awards,the newspapers write about them,the municipality of Udine invited them in their offices, the region fvg gave them a reward.

They are extremely happy and satisfied because many people are becoming more conscious and are changing their actions.

In my opinion this project is unbelievable, these young entrepreneurs are fighting for a better world and a better future.

I think that everyone should help this good cause, we are talking about our earth.

Our politicians are spending billions of €/$ to go to other planets, but how can we live on another planet if we don’t treat ours well?
I‘ve interviewed Ilda Ceka, a member of y-Revolution Team, I asked her a few questions about this project.

It was created in 1946 by the UN (United Nations) to help children in countries devastated by World War II. Nowadays, UNICEF is still following that mission: trying to help as many children as possible, to give them a better life. 

UNICEF concentrates on areas, over 190 countries, in which a small quantity of money can have a significant impact on the lives of the most unfortunate ones.  

It supports immunization programs for childhood diseases and programs to prevent the spread of HIV / AIDS; it also provides funding for health services and educational facilities. 

UNICEF has established some goals to achieve during next year, 2020, that are: provide help to more counties, help more children and hope to collect more money.

Its activities are financed by both government and private contributions. In fact, you can donate by making a phone call or sending a text message, even a small donation can help. 

I personally think that UNICEF, and every other charity organization, is doing an extremely important job. Without them, we would be loosing lives: I am really grateful to see that there are still a lot of people that care about each other.

Often there are ceremonies with hosts, who are celebrities in variety shows.

During the TV marathon, they collect a lot of money, for example in 2010 Hope for Haiti Now Telethon raised a reported $58 million to help the victims of the January 10th earthquake.

In Italy,in  1990,Telethon was founded by Susanna Agnelli.

It is held by Rai.

The foundation wants to help the scientific research into cures for genetic diseases.

In our city, Udine, we run for the race 24x1 hour Telethon every December.

So I am proud to have run for a noble cause.
