A Program Development Plan is a detailed outline of the steps and activities required to develop and implement a program that aligns with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) curriculum. The plan includes a clear understanding and needs of the areas to be enhanced in the programme, the resources required for implementation, the timeline for development and delivery, and a plan for program evaluation. The purpose of the plan is to ensure that the program is developed with a comprehensive understanding of the IB PYP curriculum and is designed to meet the specific needs identified. The plan serves as a roadmap for the program development process, allowing for clear communication among all stakeholders involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the program.

SRVIS's mission of fostering and developing international-minded learners is a noble one, and one that requires a deliberate approach to teaching and learning. To achieve this, the organization focuses on creating learning engagements that develop conceptual understanding and skills-driven experiences, as well as providing content that brings global life examples.

However, to ensure that this mission is achieved, it is essential to go beyond simply creating learning engagements and providing global life examples. Instead, exclusive attention should be placed on developing planners that ensure a certain percentage of global context and action is frozen during planning stages, which should then be reflected in unit end reflections. This would result in more authentic inquiry experiences for students.

By incorporating global context and action into the planning stage, teachers can create a more meaningful and relevant learning experience for students.
