One of the main requirements to become a camera operator is to be able to work under pressure. When using the camera you need to be very fast with decisions as thing can change very quickly. You should have 'knowledge of various camera formats especially the canon c100'. Without these skills the job will be hard to understand as you need past experience in using camera's toy be able to keep up with the high demand of work.

1. Attendance and Punctuality to lessons:

This week I have attended all my lessons on time. I improved this for this term by making sure I arrive to all lessons early. I have began to come into college early so i am not late.

2. Research and Analysis Skills:

I did a lot of research of different job roles in the Media business as well as different universities, work experience placements and apprenticeships. From this I found some good opportunities for myself that I can use in the future.

What type of employment contract is it?

Part time

A stringer is a freelance journalist or photographer who contributes reports or photos to a news organisation on an ongoing basis but is paid individually for each piece of published or broadcast work

As freelancers, stringers do not receive a regular salary and the amount and type of work is typically voluntary. However, stringers often have an ongoing relationship with one or more news organizations, to which they provide content on particular topics or locations when the opportunities arise.

Examples of types of businesses that would use this style of contract in the media industry?

Many manager jobs within the media industry are part time including digital managers.

News reporters also have part time contracts in the way they get paid for the news they capture so if they have no news then they wont get paid

Screenwriting, editing, production are some jobs which are freelance. Company chooses freelancers to change style of production if needed. Benefits: flexible hours, control over job client, work wherever you want, your the boss e.g. Final decision. Drawbacks: not steady work, hard to distinguish work and personal time, a lot of self work, no employer benefits, no holiday, no pay for sick days. Benefits of company: more flexible, lower cost for freelancers e.g. no cost for equipment. Drawbacks for company: not always available. Skills: Need good communication, good time management, good research skills to keep up with technology.

Casual worker

Overall I believe our team worked very well together throughout the day as we completed all work set to a high standard and in time for each new task to be issued.

We all worked well together in the way we assigned eachother to different parts of each task so we completed it faster.

However I believe our co-operation skills could have been better in the way we could have given eachother the information gathered individually sooner so when the groups merged together so we were further prepared.

I completed my individual target of understanding all the work by asking all of my group at any parts I was unsure on so I knew how to successfully contribute.

Interview Skills

1. What was the feedback from your practise interviews?

I was told that I seemed very confident when answering questions in the way I answered all the questions with ease and generally seemed interested in the interview. I also kept eye contact with the person interviewing me which showed I have good body language.

2. What were you good at?

I was good at keeping the person interviewing me focused in the way I looked at them to show I was interested and wanted to impress. My speech was also good as I was clear and fluent throughout.

3. What do you need to develop?

I believe I need to work on using less fillers which talking as it could show the interviewer that I'm nervous. I used these when I was stuck on a particular question to ensure I had time to think about what I was going to say.

Achievement of UNIT 3 evidence?

The main part that has affected my completion of work has been the time in the day where the work is set. I struggled to complete all task by the end of the day which left me with work to finish at home, however I now think I am more confident in finishing work during the day it is set which shows my development

I will now achieve my deadlines through the task sheet we were given to complete. This sheet allowed us to plan out when work will be edited and completed to catch up with work. This is useful because it shows us clearly what I need to do on different days and how I can use my spare time more affectively to ensure all my work is finalised before the deadline.

To achieve my target grade , I need to put further detail into my work, mainly on the longer pieces e.g. personal statement. By adding this detail it means my work looks more professional and gives me a higher chance of getting a Distinction or Merit.

I believe over the course of this unit I have done very well with achieving my targets. I have completed all my work to my plan to a professional standard. However in today's lesson I have seen that I have few documents to finish off and make edits too. This will ensure they are all completed before the deadline. Also I have given myself extra time to finish off my powerpoint for my presentation next week as this is essential to pass the unit.

I will ensure I meet all my deadlines for Units 3,5 and 6 by working on my study days to ensure all work is completed to a professional standard. I will also check all my padlet pages to make sure there is no missing work outstanding. I will also check all my documents incase I have forgot to upload a file.

Since last term I feel that I have improved with my planning in the way I have kept up to date with work better rather than completing it in bulks. I am also organised in the sense of my action plan as I knew when I needed to complete certain pieces of work if I wanted to finish the unit before the deadline.

Summary of Lincoln talk

During yesterdays lesson we had a talk with a senior leader from Lincoln University. I found this very helpful as it gave me an insight into what University has to offer. He gave us information on what courses there were to study, various clubs and events you can attend and also the costs for the experience. Before the talk I knew very little information about Univeristy and how to apply but I believe this talk helped me to realise what I need to do if I decide to study further education. He explained about different student loans that are available for all UK students and told us about the 37,000 courses to choose from. Before the talk I wasn't sure on whether to go to University or not but after this talk I have been more persuaded to think more about applying and hopefully getting a place in a University after my College course.
