On March 17th, 2024, protests began in Cuba, mainly in Santiago de Cuba, the country's second largest city, in protest of food shortages, medicines and power outages. Supported by: United States (claimed by Cuba, denied by U.S.) The country experienced what was described as the worst living crisis since the early 1990s.

Music is a huge part of Cuba's traditions. People either play music or have a special parade that has Spanish type of music to celebrate holidays. There are also times where people will dress up with special clothes and will have a dancing type of parade too.

Veradero would be the place that I would want to go visit in Cuba. It has a really nice beach, there is very nice weather and a resort there. Vinales would also be another place that I would like to visit in Cuba. It has a great view of small mountains, it is located in a huge forest with cool looking trees and it is a great area to go camping in too.

The food that people mainly eat in Cuba is beans, rice and plantains too. They also have something that they drink called Cuban coffee. The coffee is like normal coffee that we drink here in the U.S. but Cuba has a very special type of coffee that they drink which is why it is called Cuban coffee.

I thought that this country that I learned about was actually really cool! I loved the part where I talked about their traditions. I thought that part was intersesting to me. I also was really setting my mind into wanting to visit this country at some point in my life. There was one part of this country that I did not really like though. This country had tons of protesting going on about food shortages, power outages and medicines too. But overall, I did enjoy researching different things about this country and I do feel like I learned a lot of new stuff from doing this project. There is not a whole lot of things that is similar to my religion, culture, etc. The only thing that is similar to my culture that I am Mexican like most of the people who live in Cuba and they also speak the same language as my culture too. But I did enjoy doing this project and it was also kind of fun to present each other our chosen countries as well.
