Jennifer sighs,”why would that little rascal want to go into the woods?”

I sighed, “bullys.” As we walked I explained that Alex has bullies and they often teashed him because he’s different then them.

“That’s alfall!” Jennifer exclaims. As we got farther into the woods we started to see signs of Alex. We saw his hoodie. I made him that he rarely takes off. 

“He must be in real big trouble if he dropped his hoodie.” I said, “let's keep looking.” We looked around and found him being bullied. “Leave him alone!” I yelled. 

The bullies look at me and fear spread across their faces, “we’re sorry ma’am we won’t bother him again!” 1 of them said, and they ran off.

“Thanks.” he said as I helped him up. I nodded and I let go of his hand.

Jennifer looked at us confused and asked, “ did something happen between you two?”

“It’s nothing.” I said as I put my hand over my eyepatch and turned away, “Just bad memories.”Jennifer sighed and we started walking towards the exit. We stayed sighlit the hole time in till we heard a scream coming from behind us.

“Acid we should check that out.” jennifer said.

“Fine, but Alex your staying here.”

“What! But I want to come to!”

“No Alex it’s to dangerous!”

“Let him come Acid.”

“Fine.” I said and we walked back into the woods.

“Acid we should check that out.” Jennifer said.

“Fine, but Alex, you're staying here.”

“What! But I want to come!”

“No Alex, it's too dangerous!”

“Let him come Acid.”

“Fine.” I said and we walked back into the woods. 

“Are you positive that you want to come with us?” I asked Alex.

“Y-yea.” he replied and I could tell that he was scared. Jennifer kept asking questions about earlier and we said nothing to respond. I knew she was worried from the expression on her face. As we continued I had gotten a bit irritated from all of Jennifer's questions.

“Jen can you stop with the question?!” 

“I just want to know what’s going on between you two!”

“G-guys.”

“Well if you can’t tell it’s a sensitive subject!”

“Guys.”

“Well sorry for being A caring friend!”

“Guys look!” Alex said and we turned our heads to see Alex staring at A little girl.

“A-are you one of them?” The little girl asked.

“Who?” I asked.

“T-the furries, you know the people that have animal features that us humans are hiding from.” she says. We look at each other with our eyes wide. She was talking about us and our people. 

“No we aren’t.” I said lying. 

“Oh good! I was scared that you were going to hurt me.” she said.

“I bet Acid was thinking about it.” Alex muttered.

“What did you say?” she asked.

“Nothing nothing!” Alex said. I gave Alex A hard look.

“Anyway we should get out of here there are patrols of furries coming soon and they capture us on site.” she said.

“Okay.” we said.

“By the way what’s your name?” Alex asked.

“My name is Skylar.” she responded.

When we got to her camp we were met with cold stares and hostiled. “Let's go to my dad's house,” Skylar said and we followed quietly.

“Dad I found other humans!” she said as we entered the led tent. 

He looked at us and said, “do they work for the shadow?” After he said that word I walked over to my brother and got into A defensive stance.

“Do you work for him?!” I said back.

“I see you don’t like the word The Shadow.” he said and Alexs hid behind me and Jennifer moved towards us ready to protect Alex at a moment's notice.

“No we don’t, now answer my question!” I said. 

He put his hands up and calmly said, “No we don’t.” after he said that I calmed down and got out of my defensive stance And Jennifer moved back over. 

“What are you doing way out here?” I asked. 

“We live out here, It’s the only safe place from The Shadow and his furries.” he said. 

“Well I’m glad you guys are safe but we should get home.” I said.

“At this time when furries are patrolling!? At least stay the night!” he said.

“I guess we could stay the night but the first sign of trouble and we’re out of here.” I replied. He nodded and showed us to our room and I put Alex to bed.

“I don’t trust them.” Jennifer said.

“Me too but Alex needs the rest.”

“Oh so now you care about him!”

“I’ve always cared about him!”

“Then what happened earlier!”

“I was trying to protect him!

“From what!”

“Me!” I yelled and my eyes turned red and she went quiet.

“Calm down Acid.” I heard someone say and I saw Skylar standing there with her dad, and my eyes widened.

Their eyes widened, they saw my eyes and Skylar said, “Acid what happened to your eyes!?”

My eyes turned normal and I went into Alex's room and closed the door. “Acid?”

Alex said looking at me from his bed. “I heard the whole conversation.” he said.

“You did?” I replied.

“Yup.”

“I know you want to protect me but you aren’t A danger to me.”

“Yes I am you heard what just happened.”

“Please just try to have A good sibling relationship with me.”

“Fine, I'll give it A chance.”

“Acid open up!” we hear Jennifer say from the other side of the door. 

“There are at least twelve people in there. I can hear there breathing.” Alex said, “I'm coming with you.”

“Ok.” I replied. So together we went out there.

“Tell us the truth.” Skylar's dad said, “Are you furries.”

“Yes we are.” I replied. Everyone gasped but Jennifer who popped out her racoon features as we popped out our wolf features. “ This is who we are and we can change that but not all furries are bad.”

“....You can leave.” Skylar's dad said and everyone looked at him with shock. “But don’t come back.”

I nodded and hid my animal features and signed for the others to do the same. “we’ll leave your village.” I said and with that we left into the woods.

It was sunrise when we exited the forest. I had to carry Alex because he fell asleep. After that encounter we moved to A different town the next day. That’s all for now. Just know, I’m Acid and I am one of The Shadows targets.
