this book takes place in a little city in Minnesota. the main character is Nica, a nice, sweet little girl who had lived in an orphanage her whole life and that's been abused by the owner of the orphanage, like the other kids there.

Once they're both seventeen, they get adoped by the same family, and.. no spoilers!!
