Hello, my name is Fernando, I teach computing two state schools in Buenos Aires and
Technology in another (also State). In one of these schools, also I work as a reference the Equal Connect program. This program was
created by the government in 2010 to restore and enhance public education and reducingthe digital, social and educational gaps in the country.

In Buenos Aires state primary schools, a program called "SarmientoPlan" through which netbooks are delivered to all students so that they have access to new technologies is performed. It is focusing much in the SCRATCH
program with the objective that the boys from an early age have a base
programming.

Similarly in all state schools across the country, takes place the"Connect
Equality" program which seeks inter inclusive education regarding new technologies. These netbooks like the Plan Sarmiento bring the two operating systems: Windows and Linux, and who gave last year of Connect Equality Plan come with an operating system based on Linux called HUAYRA. This is of national origin.

CS Unplugged is a collection of free learning activities that teach Computer Science through engaging games and puzzles that use cards, string, crayons and lots of running around.

The activities introduce students to Computational Thinking through concepts such as binary numbers, algorithms and data compression,
separated from the distractions and technical details of having to use
computers. Importantly, no programming is required to engage with these
ideas!

CS Unplugged is suitable for people of all ages, from elementary
school to seniors, and from many countries and backgrounds. Unplugged
has been used around the world for over twenty years, in classrooms,
science centers, homes, and even for holiday events in a park!

I currently work with the SCRATCH program. Introductory previously and
so an activity performed in groups of 4 or 5 students. Each group should
think, reflect and write on a sheet of paper that steps should be made
to perform daily activities such as brushing teeth, buy a magazine, a
gift pack and so on. Once this activity, the results are exchanged for other groups to write a constructive comment if they consider that a step is not correct.

Finally , each group should represent gestural mime type as the other groups
"step by step" of its algorithm , which always generates laughter among all and a good climate for understanding why or why is not correct algorithm each example .

I found interesting the proposals presented on the site Computer Science Unplugged and really is an original and fun way to address this issue. I'll share with other
teachers in my school to be incorporated in the activities during the year.

Greetings!

In my first secondary year students I see no difference in any activities
related to programming, on the basis of it to the SCRATCH program.

Now, from this the new school curricula at the secondary level where matter
Technology and from the upper cycle includes was implemented , information
material will be more content related to programming so I understand that will
appeal to both boys as girls

At school, interdisciplinary work with other teachers to share
resources
and digital tools with the aim that students learn in a fun and engaging
way. Here I mention some of which use more because of the practical and
simple to use. So we have:

Glogster

Glogster is
a web 2.0 tool founded in 2007 to create interactive digital
Glogs or posters. The Glog is presented as an image with interactive and
multimedia content in which users can interact with them.
Glogster provides an environment to design interactive posters, enabling
the incorporation of audiovisual, iconic and verbal content in a single
page attractive and motivating way. Besides these posters they can be
shared with
others, export or save on your computer.

Tagxedo
Tagxedo is an online tool for work that allows us to create our own tag
clouds from text or a list of words that we provide to you, or the URL
of a particular website.
It is a very simple application to use and helps us to quickly design a
custom cloud and ready to print tags for use in a presentation or shared
on a website or blog. Selects the layout, font, text orientation,
colors and, most notably, the shape of the cloud, for which we can
upload an image.
Prioritizes the words by frequency of appearance, thus giving a size in
the corresponding cloud with its importance within the text, in addition
to link and unify similar words and discard those common, weightless.
The images thus created can then be saved locally in JPEG or PNG format.

Powtoon

Powtoon is a web tool for creating animations that can be shared on
YouTube or through a website.

CmapTools

CmapTools What sets apart is, first, the possibility of creating
concept
maps that incorporate web attachments or links to other pages.
Therefore, schemes created with this tool allow you to interact with
your content through a browser. Second, the sharing concept maps and
resources over the Internet.
There are public servants which can accommodate the schedules and
attachments to them.

In schools where I work they do not have robots, however, together with other teachers of the area, we are trying to raise funds to purchase some units. Two weeks ago we
took the students above a workshop called "Eco Robots" which was sponsored by Foundation Telefonica courses. The experience was excellent, and confirms what we already knew beforehand, that, as the students are connected to this discipline through play, wants to go with getting a step further.Together with them and the coordinator of the workshop made several tests of programming for robots realized certain movements, the final challenge, make the robot traveling a winding road drawn on a canvas without departing from it. Back to repeat this experience with students of the early years and we have already put in campaign to see the possibility of buying with someone traveling abroad
since the cost is cheaper.

The same test your skills by having to go all the way with the mouse cursor to the destination without touching the edges . In this case the player loses and has to try again. We did it with three levels of difficulty. Everything was done in Power Point : roads, information messages , etc. using a lot of resources. Some of these are in the " Developer " tab that must first be enabled in the program because by default, this is not available.
