The bicentennial is the celebration of 200 years of celebration for an event, in this case the independence of Panama from Spain is celebrated, which took place on November 10 and 28, 1821, and this began colonial life. On November 10, the first cry was given, which brought as the culmination of independence on November 28, 1821. Panama does not celebrate independence from Spain on September 15 with the rest of the Central American continent, since Panama did not achieve independence, until November 28, and unlike the other Central American countries, Panama did not become a republic directly, but rather joined Gran Colombia.

This is a process where the isthmus was indeoendizo from Spain between November 10 and 28, 1821, thus giving the end of 321 years of colonial life. This event is very important for Panamanians since Panama is a country characterized by the diversity of people united for the well-being of the country. A small curiosity is that the country of Panama does not celebrate its independence like the rest of the Central American countries and several countries celebrate it on September 15 and Panama on November 28. And unlike them, it does not become a Public Republic but part of La Gran Colombia.

First off, the separatist movements that took place in Colonial America boosted Panamanian's desire for independence. Also, the commercial restrictions imposed by Spain and the lack of development of other types of economic activities plunged the territory into misery and poverty. Therefore Panamanias decided to become independent from Spain for having fair treatment for all the people, although soon after the separation they voluntarily joined New Granada, fearing Spain to take power over the isthmus again.
