I remember some particular things about him  from when I was young like he always wanted to do things by itself, he was always here to help other people or to spend time with is grandchild and always laugh and smile. He also was very well organized, all things was in order and he always defended his opinion. There is also the fact that he was very fond and protective of the French language, he was very proud of his language.This is one of the reasons why my parents give a French name to my sister, my brother and me. I learn many years after, that my grandfather has participated to the referendum and he was a part of the of the campaign during this period. He worked with important people like Réné Levesque and help to organize the campaign. Today he still have is member card and proud of what he has accomplished.

Mr. Auguste is doing taxi for a living and he is my father. I had the chance to be born in a country with good school education. I always been intrigued by the other reason my family came in Canada. James always took decision for him and his family. I'm amazed by the fact that my father work every day to put me at the college of Lassomption. When i was a kid he was doing everything to make my family and i feel safe in this country and we did sports, we travel  we were doing everything like the others family to integrate more easily. He really want us to be great. Even sometimes he finished to work at 5:00 every day of the week and i don't see him. That why I'm so proud and grateful to say James Auguste is my father.  When ask my father the other reason that make him came to Canada when he could have been living really good in Haiti. He told me that he wanted to have a family with my mother in a good and safe country because of the  dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier aka " Baby Doc " he had to make the decision to came in Canada. And now he's helping other members of my family to came live in Canada like is sister and grandmother because after the reign of Duvalier Haiti had no good political leader and it was dangerous.
