As mentioned previously, the authentic leadership style has been linked to feelings of support and empowerment in nurses, which helps to prevent burnout (Laschinger, Borgogni, Consiglio, & Read, 2015). Nursing Leadership & Management (NUR 415) focused on different leadership styles and what particular units, staff type, and desired outcomes any particular style could improve. NUR 415 also enabled any new nurse graduate with the knowledge of implementing leadership styles in such a way that supporting staff as well as higher level administration can collaborate effectively in producing outcomes.

The current limitations of research on burnout were mentioned in the literature review. There is no intervention that addresses all three areas that feed into burnout, and there are nine factors that haven’t been studied well enough to determine significance. Nursing Research: Design & Methodology (NUR 409) prepared new nurses with the education and skills to fill the gaps in research and become leaders in new interventions to further address burnout.
