  • 1909 : NAACP was founded, defending black people's rights.
  •  Blacks were not allowed to use the same infrastructures as Whites: they used different washbasins, they were not allowed to sit in the same part of  buses, had to use different sides of drinking fountains, couldn't go to school with black children...
