After reading the article, what does Restorative Justice mean to you? How can we use RJ at Carolina High?

Restorative justice means that people have a chance to fix what they did wrong instead of just being told that they're misbehaving. We could use the same method that was used in the article and come up with different ways for a student to redeem themselves so that everyone affected feels better about the whole situation. The students could even become closer rather than just hating each other after what might have happened.

To me it means a more effective way of punishment, while also allowing the student to learn from their mistakes instead of being told 'this is what you did wrong'. At Carolina, RJ could be expressed in many ways instead of the punishments that we have now. For example, lunch detention could have an alternative as well as others.

Restorative Justice to me is when people who were in the problem and people who were affected, come together and talk about what happened and try to uplift one another. It's basically give the person who did wrong a chance to redeem themselves. Honestly, I don't think it could be used for everything because at times people can say that they would never do it again but then they do it again. I think that maybe we could use it for minor problems that occur but not the big things.

It also would help with growing a growth mindset and helps people realize why they did something and what they can do to improve.

At Carolina instead of just throwing a punishment in someones face at every given moment at . You can talk to them and help it not happen again and resort to punishments if problems continue that's just my opinion though...i know nothing
