         <description><![CDATA[<div>On September 16, 1810, a priest named Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla became the father of Mexican independence. He urged his fellow Mexicans to take up arms against the Spanish government. Hidalgo’s declaration, Known as the “Grito de Dolores,” launched a decade-long struggle that ended 300 years of colonial rule and established an independent Mexico.</div>]]></description>
