Health Mini-Project by JACK SHANNON https://padlet.com/jshannon37/jln5xo9f6f86 en-us 2018-11-01 18:46:41 UTC 2024-11-10 02:58:42 UTC hello@padlet.com Description of Breast Cancer jshannon37 https://padlet.com/jshannon37/jln5xo9f6f86/wish/299544532 Breast Cancer:  This cancer forms in the breast.  It happens when the cells in the breast begin to grow out of control.  These cells usually form a tumor that can often be seen on an x-ray or felt as a lump.  The tumor is malignant (cancer) if the cells can grow into surrounding tissues or spread to distant areas of the body.  Breast cancer occurs mostly in women, but can still occur in men too.  A small number of cancers start in other tissues in the breast.  These cancers are called sarcomas and lymphomas.  All though many breast cancers cause lumps,  not all do.  Most breast cancers start begin in the ducts that carry milk to the nipple. This form of cancer is highly treatable. This cancer usually only affects one testicle. This cancer is caused by altering healthy cells in the testicle, like most cancers. The real cause of testicular cancer is unknown. Some risk factors include age, race, family history, abnormal testicle development, and an undescended testicle (testicles that didn't form correctly during fetal development).
