in todays lesson we got casted by our director. one of my roles as an actor meant I had to audition for a certain part. I auditioned for interviewer 1 or 2. when auditioning I did both interviewer roles and actually realised I did prefer playing interviewer 1 as their character was more fun to play around with due to their 'friendly persona'.By the end of the lesson we were casted and I am playing interviewer 1. I am going to begin to do a character background and play around with different techniques to see what kind of character interviewer 2 is and how she can be more comedic for the film.

Jeff will wear a Blue shirt, top two buttons unbuttoned to emphasise his aloof character. The reason his shirt is blue as it is still a smart colour and will be different from the other two interviewers to show his status and that he is above the other two interviewers.

Jeff will be wearing smart black shoes, these are the kind of shoes people who have 'office' jobs tend to wear. the shoes will be clean and polished to emphasise how well kept Jeff is.

To go with his smart shirt, Jeff will also wear smart work pants. Initially I thought black would go best but after seeing the models online wear dark navy pants with he light blue shirt I changed my mind and decided navy pants would look better, this will also break up the colour of costume between Jeff and the other two interviewers.

In todays meeting we went over what each person has done since our last meeting and where we are all up too. the main worry at the moment is location. Within my roles my main worry is line learning and getting the actors measurements for costume on items they don't have themselves and that we may have to outsource. After the classes get together we started to run trough the opening scene where I play Interviewer 2, I learnt today that I had to slow down my lines which I do feel will come better when I am off script. I will be off script for next week. My focus now is finishing off my ideas for costume so I can send it off to the actors to see what items they have and what they don't. from there I will begin to contact the costume department/start to look for costume we may have to buy.

I1 will wear a white blouse, preferably plain but it may have some pattern/frilly style on it. the white blouse will be a contrast from the other two characters while still remaining smart and professional.

I1 will wear black patent leather shoes, school shoe kind of vibe but still smart and clean. these can be very easy and cheap to find in shops such as Asda or Primark.

Interviewer 2 (I2)

I2 will wear a black dress to break away from the other two 'suit' like costumes. the dress will be plain and boring to go with I2s characteristics of being quite blunt and dull.

todays lesson I was unfortunately not in due to illness but made sure to speak to a class mate to ensure I was up to date with everything we needed to know before we broke up for easter. Things I need to focus on are creating mood boards for my costume design and doing research on what costume I will be picking for my assigned characters. On top of this I need to ask all characters if they can supply their own costume inspired by my costume ideas and if not it is then my duty to supply the costumes wether that be buying clothing or supplying it from the university costume cupboard.

I2 will also wear black sheer tights with black kitten heels for a professional and kind of 'boring' or 'typical' look to match I2 characterisation

today was the first day of filming I arrived to lesson thinking I was early but in fact 45 minutes late, I learnt today that all cast and crew should arrive to set an hour earlier than stated on the call sheet. luckily for costume it is just a matter of making sure all cast have the correct costume and are dressed the way planned. all costume went really smoothly and looked really good on camera. all actors brought in their own costume so sizing was not an issue. The visual aesthetic of the interview looked really good with the costume I went for it fit well within the story line and the contrast between characters worked really well.

today was my final day on set as costume designer and to my surprise everything went very smoothly, all actors remembered their costume so continuity was not an issue. one thing I think would be more interesting to do as a costume designer in the future would be going into more detail with accessories. but over all all the costumes looked really good and worked really well.
