I’ve always admired my mom’s hardworking nature and empathy towards others. I learned from her and started to balance responsibility and compassion in my own life. It’s motivated me to value effort and kindness and use it in my everyday life.

I’ve learned from my dad by giving attention to the way he’s always there for me and present in my life. He’s always supported me and always guides me to positive outcomes. Because of him I am able to listen to others and know it’s okay to depend on someone at times although I prefer to be independent. I strive to be someone reliable and thoughtful because of him.

I’ve watched my brother navigate his life as a first generation student and I admire him because of it. Him being independent and resilient through new experiences guided me through my own experiences. He’s always supported me through challenges and I want to do the same for others. I am strong and independent through his advice.

My coach believed in me and my teammates before we even believed in ourselves. I’ve used his lessons, discipline, and persistence to strive for more all the time. It’s helped me believe in my own potential and push my self past my limits in order to live up to my abilities.

Adele is one of my favorite artists because or her authenticity and the way she makes the audience feel so much emotion through music. I’ve learned the importance to be honest about my feelings and vocalize them. She’s overcome many struggles to pursue her passion which inspires me to keep moving forward and pursue my dreams. This is why I stay true to myself and crave authenticity from others.
