Once he gets through his troubles he has learned that he has to focus on the important things in life.

I dedicate this to my cousin; she finally got the right track by realizing that all she had to do was focus on the important things. An who figured out that she needed to take her life seriously and change it.

Even though Rex is the main character does not mean that he is perfect . Rex has many strengths and weaknesses that affect him.
     Some of Rex's  strengths consists of strength, kindness, and pride. Rex's strength allows him complete any task without really getting tired ,and completing things that would be considered impossible to a normal person. Also, Rex is really kind; which enables him to bond with almost everyone he meets. Last but not least, Rex has tons of pride ; which drives him to complete his tasks when he is struggling.
     Even though Rex has multiple weaknesses like: stubbornness, naive, and cocky. Rex's stubbornness causes him not to listen to the advice of others around him; which ends up getting him in trouble. Although, Rex is kind he is naive which had him assume the entire wrong thing. Last but not least Rex is cocky which causes people around tend to not like him.

The two groups both cause severe things to happen in the story ,and basically change Rex's environment.
     The reason for the rebels and the paramilitaries are both against Rex are complicated. The rebels are against him because he is white and wealthy ,and the rebels are against white and wealthy people. The paramilitaries are against Rex also, because they end up destroying his friends and their lives. Since all of this has happened to him it has caused him to forget about his dream ,and makes him start to care about the thing around him that matter.]]> 2018-02-13 19:45:11 UTC https://padlet.com/21_114234/jl5a2m1hc7pc/wish/231258390 21_114234 https://padlet.com/21_114234/jl5a2m1hc7pc/wish/231267703      Rex's problem is that while kayaking the last bit of the Furioso River he ends up getting captured by the rebels; while he is held captive the paramilitaries kill and destroy his friend Myriam's village. Instead solving this problem the way Rex did in the story there are ways that he could of solved it. For example, Rex's mother could of paid the ransom set up by the rebels ,and while he was being released he could of took Myriam along with his back to Canada and just start over. Which in total Rex would of still been able to escape ,and Myriam could have gone to college like she had been wanting to.


Solution to Problem:

1. Myriam send a note to Rex via Alberto (one of her friends from her villiage fighting for the rebels).
2. Rex gives suddle hints to Alberto without fully telling him ,so they would not get caught.
3. Alberto waits for a foggy morning then busts Rex out of his cell ,and gets away from the camp and meets Myriam.
4. Next, Mryiam, Alberto,and Rex head to where Rex's kayak is hidden ,and uses the supplies(empty plastic jugs) Alberto got to get them over the waterfall into Dead Man's Canyon.
5. Then, Rex, Mryiam, and Alberto hide out in a cave with the river passing through it for a day.
6. After that, Rex, Mryiam, and Alberto paddle back to the little town where Rex rented the kayak and spent the first two days of his trip to Jock's place for help( Rex's guide and who he rented the kayak from).
7. Finally Rex returns home to Canada; while Mryiam heads off to college to be a reporter for her people and brings Alberto along.
