Sawn (Fasting)

• Fasting is called shayam or shaum means to hold back.

• By fasting, believers are forbidden from eating and drinking because they want to gain great benefits from the prohibition.

• People who believe can control their desires by carrying out the commands of Allah.

Zakat

• Take zakat from some of their property, with that zakat you clean and sanctify them and pray for them.

• Zakat is not just a financial obligation, but an act of worship that cleanses the human heart from stinginess, greed, and love of the world. It also purifies the wealth itself from elements of doubt.

Hajj

• The "months of pilgrimage" mentioned are Shawwal, Dhul-Qa'dah, and the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. It is during these times that the rituals of the pilgrimage are performed. This emphasis shows that the pilgrimage is not simply a ritual on the Day of Arafah or the Feast of Aidiladha.

• Fasting helps in drawing us closer to Allah SWT - Recite Al-Quran and perform umrah.

• Helping in acquiring patience and strong will - When one fasts, and gives up one’s food and drink, and one’s marital sexual relations for fasting hours, one learn restrain and patience.

Definition of Sadaqah

• A person's giving to someone else who is in need (fakir) sincerely without expecting anything in return from those who receive the charity.

Tawakkul (Reliable on Allah)

The giver:

1. They are essentially trusting that Allah will provide more in return.

2. It teaches that true sustenance (rizq) doesn’t come from hoarding wealth, but from Allah.

3. We trust Allah’s promises more than our own calculations.

The receiver:

1. It requires faith that Allah is watching over them.

2. They learn that Allah can send help through the hearts of the generous.
