Slaves were sold within days of being a merchant’s custody as buyers were in a hurry to find the ones they liked best. The slaves were terrified because they had no idea who was buying them, where they would go and if they’d ever see their family or friends again. An African might think these men of god would do “unto au men as you would men should do unto you” and allow the slaves to stay will those they know, but that was not the case. The purchase of slaves separated parents from their children, husbands, and wives, brothers and sisters, and friends relations thus creating even more distress and horror than what slavery already provided. 

2. This Paragraph is about how a slave felt emotionally during the process of being sold and describes the pure distress and horrors they went through being torn apart from family and friends who they knew they would never see again. 

3a. When being enslaved you could be traded or auctioned off with no say in it. Whenever they would be auctioned off they would be worried that they might never see their loved ones ever again. This would create aggravates distress, and adds fresh horrors even to the wretchedness of slavery.

3c. Olaudah Equiano attempt to convince the reader of the unjustness of slavery by telling them about the hardships of being traded and having to part ways with your mother, father, sister, brother, and more. Having to worry about if you will ever see them again and if you do when. Using examples from Equiano's autobiography, describe the treatment of enslaved people during the Middle Passage.

After refusing to eat two white men flogged him.

3a. They no longer have a chance of returning to their native country, became so sick they were unable to eat, strong odors, and crammed under the deck of the ship.
3c. He tries to convince the readers of the horror of slavery by describing the conditions they were put through on the ship, like the stench and dirtiness.

Olaudah found some of his countrymen and learned that they were being sent to work for people in the Americas. He was slightly relieved but was still afraid of how they treated enslaved people and even other white people. He noted that they beat other people and treated them with extreme hostility and brutality. 

2. “I then was a little revived, and thought, if it were no worse than working, my situation was not so desperate: but still I feared I should be put to death, the white people looked and acted, as I thought, in so savage a manner, for I had never seen among any people such instances of brutal cruelty; and this not only shewn towards us blacks, but also to some of the whites themselves.” 

This shows how cruel the whites treated the Africans, and even their own countrymen. Equiano wasn’t as afraid of the workload; it was how he would be treated that he feared the most. 

3a. In Equiano’s autobiography, we learned about the fear that the enslaved people had of the white people. Equiano mentions, “I feared I should be put to death,” which shows the cruelty and brutality of the whites.

3b. He is scared of being brutally beaten and abused which could possibly lead to death because he was seeing it all around him.

Three slaves jumped off the ship, two of them drowned while the other was flogged. They went through many hardships such as near suffocation for the want of fresh air, and the stench of necessary tubs.

"Many a time we were near suffocation from the want of fresh air, which we were often without for whole days together." We chose this sentences because it shows like circumstances they were in and how cruel they were.

The treatment of enslaved people was very cruel and inhumane. For example they did not have fresh air for many days at time, and were all cramped into the hull.

He experienced many tragedies and saw many people treated horrifically. For instance, horrible sanitation, cruel treatment of people and a lot of death among board. Olaudah Equlano described the living conditions while aboard the ship. He mentioned Slaves who were starved and Some who had even jumped off the ship because they believed the captures were cannibals. He mentioned all of these things so that we could imagine how insufferable it was to be a slave. 
2. Olaudah Equlano's living conditions aboard the ship were harsh and had even led to the death of many slaves by choice because of their fear.
3a. Treatment of enslaved people: Enslaved people were tossed aside and treated brutally showing no mercy whatsoever.

He states that while he goes onto the ship he becomes confused on how they are going to stop the ship. He starts to believe they use magic to stop the ship when in reality they use an anchor. 
2. I expected they would sacrifice me, but my wishes were vain: for we were so quartered that it was impossible for any of us to escape. 
3a. They were treated very badly and rough. The slaves would rather kill themselves at times because they were so scared of being eaten.

He wrote about how he saw slaves chained together and he also saw there were other African Americans were getting payed to capture them so they could come along voluntarily. He fainted and was brought some liquor by the crew and wouldn't take it until another African American gave it to him. It made him feel worse. He was afraid of getting eaten because he believed that they were Cannibals.
