-

My comic will be based on the short story from Roald dahl, called 'The Hitchhiker'. My comic will be firstly sketched out, then illustrated in illustrator, this is to achieve a more comic like look, and to further develop my skills in illustrator. it will be a 4 page comic, and will have different styles of panels on each page, to keep the readers interested in the comic. The Hitchhiker is about 2 main characters, called 'the narrator' and 'the hitchhiker', the story starts off with the narrator driving a brand new BMW sports car, and as the narrator is driving down a road, he picks up a hitchhiker. The two characters start talking, and the hitchhiker reveals that he is going towards derby day, a horse racing event, after that he says that he is a 'very skilled tradesman', then asks the narrator what the top speed of the car is, he replies, 129mph. The hitchhiker challenges the narrator to prove it, the narrator approves and begins to accelerate until he reaches the top speed, then gets pulled over by a policeman, the policeman threatens a lengthy prison sentence and hands them a fine, then hitchhiker says that he is a hod-carrier, to which the policeman says to the both that they can go on their way. The narrator asks why he lied, he says again, he's a skilled tradesman. He then rolls a cigarette, very fast, and the narrator compliments him for having very slim, fantastic fingers. The hitchhiker then reveals that he has been pickpocketing the narrator since the beginning of the journey, the hitchhiker says that a pickpocket is a very ameteur word for his occupation, which is a fingersmith, a person that is very good with his fingers. The fingersmith then reveals that he has stolen the policemans diary, and says that he doesn't have to worry about the policeman checking up on them. This makes them both laugh, and continue to make a bonfire with the policemans stolen diaries.
