A man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack is a “cyberattack where the attacker secretly relays and possibly alters the communications between two parties who believe that they are directly communicating with each other” […] “As it aims to circumvent mutual authentication, a MITM attack can succeed only when the attacker impersonates each endpoint sufficiently well to satisfy their expectations. Most cryptographic protocols include some form of endpoint authentication specifically to prevent MITM attacks”.

I find this video interesting because we can see in it that the digital identity of a person, an organization or a device like a computer is also connected to the digital certificate which “represents” them at the digital firm and the digital authentication, but this digital certificate can also be attacked while we are ignoring it… This video explains more or less technically how we might suffer a man-in-the-middle attack (Laura López Ramírez).
