I tried to use a video with a padlet post as one station of four in my general music class. It did not work well because it took so long for students to log on and get started, that it threw off the timing of the stations. I am not sure how to fix this problem in a class of 35 when I only had 20 computers (6th graders). The students who DID complete the padlet, left good comments and responded to other comments in a positive way. I did not give student choice, which may have led to less student engagement in the activity.

I created a self-guided scenario worksheet with arguments made by federalists and anti-federalists after the revolutionary War. The kids were tasked with creating a new government for the 13 colonies. The government was to be powerful, but no too powerful. It also had to respect the peoples' rights and preserve state sovereignty. After the kids completed the questions, they observed a google slides with comments for each of the choices and directions to color their blank American flag. The color choices were red, white, and blue, or pink or purple (variations of r,w,b), depending on how they answered. Some kids realized they sided with Hamilton and others sided with Jefferson as they followed directions. Kids with a flag that was close to the current American flag tended to side with the Federalists, kids with pink and purples sided with Jefferson and the Anti-Federalists.

I tried to implement independent stations in PE where kids were working on different basketball skills. It did not go as well as I had hoped, but we did have a conversation mid way through the activities to talk about why it was unsuccessful and why it "failed." I was surprised about how reflective the students were and when we tried it again they were more cognizant of their actions and engagement.

I created my first hyperdoc with level 1 and 2 ESOL students. Students were very engaged. Students needed a lot of guidance, but were able to eventually work independently at their own pace.
