What are the things you are passionate about in your personal life?

The things that I am passionate about in my personal life is having alone time. I really enjoy my alone time to recenter, reconnect, and just feel calm in life. I am passionate about keeping my home tidy and organized. I like plants and planting. I am also passionate about my 2 dogs. I enjoy taking them out to run and play.

What drives you in your professional life?

In my professional life I am driven by having my own group of students. It drives me to make connections with them and their families. It drives me that the students look to me to help them learn, grasp, and understand new concepts. Knowing that I can make a difference in their lives is something that drives me as a teacher.

Do you think education as an institution is meeting the needs of children and adolescents? Why do you believe as you do?

I believe that education as an institution is doing their best to meet the needs of children and adolescents. I believe that education can do a better job with accommodating and differentiating curriculum that meet the needs of each individual. The pacing for curriculum and standards is very overwhelming that it feels like if students aren't where they should be in their grade then they get left behind academically. I believe that education as an institution should re-frame when standards need to be met by each student and allow for a much slower pace.

If you could have a magic wand and change anything about your profession, what would you change and why?

If I could change anything about my profession I would change our income.

Imagine that you are near the end of your life, what would you hope to have accomplished?

If I were to imagine that I am near the end of my life I would have hoped to accomplish having a family of my own and living life to the fullest. I would hope that I have traveled the world, laughed, and loved a lot. I would hope to have accomplished teaching many grades and children. I would hope that I am a teacher that my students remember for the rest of their lives.

What would be the most important things to look back on?

The most important things to look back on is the family that I have created and professional legacy. I would look back and reflect on my years as a teacher and what that looked like.

What would you want to say about your passions and accomplishments?

I would have to say that I need to make my passions consistent. I need to make sure that I am meeting my needs and doing what makes me happy each and every day. I would say that it is okay for me to take my alone time and enjoy a quiet moment or two. I would also say to keep my green thumb and grow a big garden. In regards to my accomplishments I would say that I have worked so hard to get where I am. I have worked many hours, days, months, and years studying to be a teacher. I have put in my hard work and deserve my career.
