A Day in My Life

Everyone has some special events and experiences in their own life. One of the most memorable events in my life is my first day at CUCMS. The worst feeling in the world is the homesickness. On August 11, 2016, my parents took me to Kuching International Airport in the early morning and we went to CUCMS from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) by Uber. I felt very nervous during the registration day. At first, we settled all the payment for DOSH. Actually, I am a student of DOSH in this university college but I’ve changed it to FAS on September, 2016. Secondly, my parents and I were having lunch at the canteen after the registration. After that, we were heading to my hostel which was Mutiara Ville. Nevertheless, I’ve cleaned up the room myself after getting the keys. I seldom help around the house before and study at local university college is a very good chance for me to gain self-discipline. We also went shopping for groceries. Last but not least, I took my parents to KLIA before the sunset and my parents gave me a weeping hug. I miss them a lot because they have supported me at every stage of my adult life.

The Best Part of your Job

I had a great chance to work with my father who helps take care of a two generation pig farm at Serian, Sarawak. The best part of my job is to help my father to take care of those pigs. The farm is a three-stages farm and all the pigs are raised indoors. One of the benefits of raising pigs indoors is the ability to control the temperature in their environment. Pigs do not have much hair on their bodies to protect them from the cold or insulate them against heat. Pigs always dung in the same place. So we need to clean up once a day to lessen the risk of the disease. Pigs must always have clean, fresh water to drink and the water must be put in the shade. Nevertheless, we also need to feed the pigs only once a day because once they had their fill they will only play with the rest of the food. I love this job because it not only can help my father but also can take good care of those filthy animals. Not everyone is willing to do this kind of job. 'My brother has been my biggest role model,' my youngest brother said. This brings both of my brothers are willing to help out in this family. I am very happy that hearing my passion may help other realize their passions.

An Interesting Industry Blog

It’s hard to get by without some knowledge of new technology and gizmos (gadget, device, appliance and etc) in today’s technological world. There are many blogs will keep you up to date on all the latest or newest technology, gadgets and consumer information. But, one of my favourite industry blog to read is Mashable - http://mashable.com/. Mashable is a global, multi-platform media and entertainment company. For me, Mashable is the best technology blog because it generally has the most insightful articles on new technologies and their implementations across business, devices and web services. Nevertheless, it also has a great team of writers and journalists. This technology blog is very useful for learning about tech stuffs and know about the latest tech info for blogger especially first-time readers. I think that the great posts that first-time readers should check out are '7 technologies that thrilled us in 2016 and how they’ll change in 2017' and 'No, you shouldn't be allowed to fix your own phone, 'Right-to-Repair' is a dumb idea.' Last but not least, Mashable has built up two distinct benefits that are relatively challenging to compete with community and utility. On the community side, it'd be east to point to our large numbers of followers on services like Twitter and Facebook, but it's much more than that. Mashable is as much about utility as it is breaking news and reviewing interesting new applications and services.

In the same vein, I have read an article that is incredibly relevant to my favourite industry blog which is 'Seven Tips for Capturing High Quality Photographs with Smartphone.' Remarkable advances in technology over the past few years have not only changed the way we communicate, but even the ways we structure our day and make sense of our experiences. One of the most important contributors has been the smartphones. With such easy and instant access to once-separate functions such as cameras, social media, gaming and the internet, the smartphone has revolutionized the day-to-day lives of people everywhere. The smartphone camera is one of the most prominent innovations. Achieving professional-level photography without professional-level equipment is just not going to happen for you, but the skilled among us definitely manage to capture frame-worthy memories on-the-go. There are seven tricks for capturing high-quality photographs with your smartphone.

1. Experiment with gridlines and the rule of thirds.

2. Optimize your lighting.

3. Tap to focus.

4. Use negative space.

5. Play with perspectives.

6. Use the editing features.

7. Get a phone with a dual-lens camera.

Nowadays, smartphones auto-focus speed allows us to be the fastest to capture each vivid moment, and its High Dynamic Range (HDR) reproduces natural light and colour, allowing for beautiful images even in low-light.

Your Favourite Quote

One of my favourite quotes is 'Attitude Determines Success or Failure of a Person.' I found this forcefully quote from Asia Reader’s Digest. Positive attitude can make up your shortage to become perfect; and negative attitudes will result in failure. A positive attitude helps me to cope more easily with the daily affairs of life and brings optimism into my life. The reasons for why other people should consider adopting a positive attitude are it creates belief and determination and negative attitude will affects others. A positive attitude is one of the core components of self-confidence. The most important reason for adopting a positive attitude and outlook is because it attracts positive things. It is a famous proverb that 'Good Things Happen to Good People.' The advantages of having a positive attitude are less stress, happy peers and empowerment. For example, when I am solving mathematics problem and trying from a very long time, but still I am not able to solve it. When I think positive, then it imparts in me the quality of not quitting anything in between as I believe that I will solve it, one day or the other. This makes me keep on trying again and again to solve the question. It may be possible that I at last solve the problem, with some other method that is not known to me as there are many different ways to solve a mathematics question. This is how I exceeded our own expectations, only because of positive thinking. Same way, I face many problems in my life and there are many different solutions to it. The only thing I have to do is to think positive and keep on trying, and I will definitely find a solution to my problem.

You 5-Year Plan

Time flies when you have a goal set for yourself. Many people say that having a few years plan can help you be that much more successful. Five years after graduation I plan to obtain a master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Healthcare, also be in the process of becoming a good husband, and start a small pastry and coffee business. It seems like it’s a lot to be accomplished in five years, but with the passion and dedication I have, it can be done. So far I am the only children in my immediate family to attend college and I want to demonstrate to them that continuing the education is very important. I will obtain the highest education level to be successful, live a comfortable life, and be successful in my profession. I want to be successful and rich so I can have all the good things in my life. I want to be able to have a family without any financial stress and worries. I just want a sense of comfort that no matter what happens I’ll have the money to take care of it and I don’t exactly need a luxurious lifestyle. In addition, a master’s degree or any kind of degree looks good on any job application instead of just a high school diploma. I hope to start a small pastry and coffee business by the fifth year. Having a future plan might seem like you’re getting ahead of yourself. But no, you are not. My five year plan is just that 'a plan.' It’s my guide for my future goals. Maybe it might take a little longer than expected but it’s what I want to get in the future.
