Mrs. Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. participated in the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, a massive demonstration in Washington, D.C., advocating for civil rights and economic equality.

Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his iconic "I Have a Dream" speech at the event, a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement. 

She was recognized and honored during the event's "Tribute to Women" segment.

Parks received numerous accolades, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom (highest civilian award in USA) in 1996, and the Congressional Gold Medal in 1999. 

It is the living legacy of two individuals who committed their lives to civil and human rights.

The institute's goal is to motivate and direct youth who are not targeted by other programs to reach their full potential. 

Elaine Eason Steele worked with Miss Parks for 45 years.

In 1994 she published with Gregory J. Reed Quiet Strength: The Faith, the Hope, the Heart of a Woman Who Changed a Nation.

Her Statue: The bronze statue was installed in 2013 in the USA's National Statutory Hall as part of the collection of the Architect of Capitol. It is the first full-length statue of an African American in the Capitol

She passed away on October 24, 2005 at the age of 92, she died of natural causes, leaving behind a rich legacy of resistance against racial discrimination and injustice.
