To the graduates, this is more than just a regular celebration. It is proof of your hard-work, resilience, determination and dedication! You have each faced challenges and pushed through doubts and MADE IT to this moment, and I couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you. The road ahead of you may seem scary, but it is full of endless possibilities. You can be anything you want to me. Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams, embrace the unknown, and NEVER stop believing in yourself. Never hesitate to reach out and keep in touch. You will forever hold the most special place in my heart! No matter where life takes you in this world, remember this: you are capable, you are worthy, and you are READY!

Watching you about to cross this finish line brings more emotions than I can name. I’ve had the immense privilege of being your teacher for five unforgettable years — from 6th grade Ancient World Cultures, through 7th Grade 20th Century US History, then to 10th Grade US I, all the way through 11th Grade US II and even some through to APUSH. Many of us have literally grown up together in these halls here at Colt and even Market St. I’ve seen you find your voices, your passions, and your strength — and through it all, I’ve never stopped being amazed by your resilience, your heart, and your brilliance.

Teaching you has been one of the greatest joys and honors of my life. You have made me laugh, made me think, receded my hairline, and most of all, made me proud — so incredibly proud.

As you step into the next chapter, take every lesson you’ve learned — in the classroom and in life — and carry it with you. You are more than ready.

As Master Yoda once said:
“Truly wonderful, the mind of a student is.”

You guys will be missed. Looking back at the last 4 years, I hope that you see it was all worth it. Late nights, early mornings.. the grind was real! The tassel was definitely worth the hassle. Continue to pursue your dreams and never let anyone dim your light. <3

When I first came to CAPS, you guys were in the 8th grade. Now that you are off to the next phase of life, it's hard to say goodbye! I hope that you all remember the lessons that we've taught you over the years and apply what you've learned to your everyday lives. These next four years will fly by so fast, just like high school did. Please do NOT rush this next journey! Undergrad was the best time of my life! DO NOT COME HOME ON THE WEEKENDS...STAY ON CAMPUS lol! I want you to make new friends and try new things...join some clubs....study abroad...join SGA...get active on campus. You may have some doubt about this next phase, but I promise you... YOU ARE MORE THAN READY (everyone is scared when they first step foot on campus)! If you find yourself struggling in a class, please seek out tutoring (it's already built into your tuition bill, so take advantage of it) or shoot one of us an email, and we can make time to help you. There will be moments in life when the road feels too long, the climb too steep, and the weight of your circumstances too heavy to bear. But let this truth take root in your heart: nothing is impossible to those who believe.

Every obstacle you face is not a wall meant to block you; it is merely a doorway, asking only for your determination to unlock it. It is in those moments of doubt, when everything in you says to quit, that belief becomes your superpower. Not just belief in the outcome; but belief in yourself, your purpose, and the idea that you were born for more.

History has never been changed by the comfortable. It has always been shaped by those who dared to believe in the impossible; and then hard-work, sacrifice, and persistence made it a reality.

Your destiny is not defined by what stands in your way, but by how fiercely you push forward. So take the step. Fight the fight. Dream the dream. And when fear whispers “You can’t,” let your faith shout back, “Watch me.”

The world is waiting for the version of you that refused to give up. And when you arrive at your destiny — stronger, wiser, and full of purpose — you’ll know the journey was worth it. Keep going. The impossible is already bending in your favor towards your belief.

As you prepare to cross the finish line of your high school journey, I want to take a moment to remind you of the extraordinary power that lives within each of you.

You are not just graduates; you are goal-setters, bar-raisers, and change-makers. Every late night, every early morning, every obstacle you overcame has brought you to this moment; not just to receive a diploma, but to step fully into your purpose.

As you move forward into college, careers, and life, I challenge you to keep setting bold goals, and to chase them with passion, focus, and heart. But even more than that, I urge you to live with purpose. Let your goals be more than personal achievements; let them be contributions to something greater. Strive to make the world a little more just, a little more kind, a little more beautiful simply because of your unique presence in it.
