This work is based on an oil painting that was done on canvas, and it was actually a color lithograph. Using this method contained printing using smooth stone or metal. This work served as help to the communist party in China. They wanted to portray Chairman Mao as a new revolutionary leader, in order to gain followers.

Obviously I could not be shown on a rock, but I attempted to look as similar as the running horned woman does based on her perspective. I gathered red clothes in order to mimic the rock that makes the woman appear a reddish color. I found a plan background to mimic her surroundings too. I chose this work because of the message behind it. The woman in this piece serves to emphasize the importance of survival and recognize the relationship between animals in humans, which are all important things in my life which I value tremendously.

This women depicted in this piece has braided hair, so in order to appear as similar to her as possible I braided my hair too. Then I gathered all of the grey clothing items and blankets I could find that would make me look made of marble. I also had to find a plain wall in order to show me standing in front of nothing, just like she is. I chose this work specifically because of how well the piece remained in tact. First I had to think of an object that could mirror the wings on the figure on the right. So, I went through my box of old costumes and found wings from an old halloween costume. Then I looked for a similar candle and vase to the one in the art work and placed them in the same position. I had to have my mom participate in order to demonstrate both figures which was very fun. I had to go through some art supplies to find paintbrushes, but other than that It was easy. I used clothing from my own closet in order to dress myself mirrored to her and I had to figure out how to position myself in the same way she did. I had no mountains near me to work with, so I had to make the most of what I had. I had to wait for a bright and sunny day with some clouds in the sky to capture this image. Then, I had to borrow clothing from my mother. In order to capture this image, I had to angle my camera exactly how the artists did their angle.
