The low class usually made food which can last longer and can be eaten for a long period of time. The most common foods for the low class were foods like soup, fish, and bread. The low class made soup in order to make a lot of food with little amount of ingredients by boiling the ingredients with water. They also ate bread and fish because it was cheap and could be kept for a longer time. Low class people mostly drank ale because grape or apple wine was too expensive for them. Ale is made of grain and water, and is fermented with yeast.
