I think that Rice is something that people don’t appreciate enough. Rice is a soul food for Japanese people and probably other Asians. However, they don’t understand the true beauty of rice. Especially when you open the lid of just cooked rice, the smell that flows out of the pot is just gorgeous. Rice can be eaten with ANYTHING. Just by transforming the rice into sticky rice, you can eat it with mango and coconut milk. You can also eat normal rice with fish, meat, eggs, and anything savory (I recommend Japanese fermented beans).

Rice is good for your skin as well. Eating rice makes your skin clean and smooth. Why eat bread when you have rice which is cheaper and… better? The next time you eat rice, think about all the effort that is added to the rice. You will appreciate it more.

Something that is overlooked and underappreciated is honestly bread. I eat bread almost everyday of my life. I mean if you think about it bread is literally a staple food for a lot of people. Bread can be eaten as a snack, a meal, you can add so many different things to bread to make it sweet, savory, etc. You can make french toast, PB&J sandwiches, BLT sandwiches, and so much more. You can toast bread to make it crunchy, or cut it up and put it into salads. It's just flour, water, yeast, salt, all mixed together to form a dough that can be shaped to however you want. And when it's done cooking it doubles its size! Not only that but there are so many different varieties of bread. Whole wheat, whole grain, rye, sourdough, pita, the options are endless! Bread is included in many different types of cuisines and original dishes. Bánh Mì is an example of a dish that is greatly appreciated in Vietnam using bread as its “base”. Bread can be a loaf or pre sliced. The best feeling is when you just bought a fresh loaf of bread, and you tear into it. You can see the hot steam pouring out into the air, the perfect symphony of crunches that you hear, you can see and feel the individual strands of fluffy dough tear apart, and the most amazing part is when you take the first bite. For some people, bread can be a luxury in their life. Even though for some people like me, you can simply walk a few blocks down the street to the nearest grocery store to buy a simple loaf of white bread. Bread is truly so underrated and so underappreciated which is why we should appreciate bread way more.

Personally I think with the busy daily routines that so many people around the world have now and all the people who are stressed over all their jobs, I think it’s very needed to have one day once every couple weeks where you just be lazy and do absolutely nothing. It’s very needed and considering all the stress you have some days you just need to reward And take a full day off and just be lazy. This is a great way to relieve yourself off all the built up stress and things you have been doing and just have a full day to yourself. Nowadays so many people are just waiting for the weekends to actually do things and when you have extra work and have to do that extra work during your own free time it becomes quite annoying so when you get to a time when there's no extra work and I just have a day to myself I just sit back and do whatever I want. I just go on my PS4 and start playing some FIFA and go in auto pilot for the rest of the day. Although people say not to be lazy or being lazy is bad, having just one day being lazy and doing absolutely nothing probably has a good effect on your health.

I believe that eating food is underappreciated. When people eat food, they usually never care about it. Maybe they might snap a few pictures and move on. That's really it. Food is more than just the taste, aroma and textures. Food can also be an experience that can impact your mood and how you behave for a day. Like how when you order food at a fancy restaurant, they usually serve different courses of meals. Each different course is selected to fill in a piece of the puzzle of your stomach. After you chow down on all the courses, you might want to eat more, yet your stomach won’t allow it. And to finish it off, you take a wet tissue and clean your mouth and wipe your face. It's like the flame candle about to be extinguished. You’re done and dusted you don’t want to do anything anymore. You just want to sit there and enjoy yourself after the meal. That's the feeling of complete satisfaction.

I think time is very underappreciated because I always sense people saying “5 more minutes.” Or “I will do it later.” I’m not saying I don’t say those things too. I’m just saying we as people always seem to not care about time. I think the cause is that it goes against us sometimes. Time can feel very fast like a plane and time can also feel very slow like a snail.

But have you ever felt time can be on your side?

To be honest, I can’t, however, time is always there for you. Time tells you when to go to class, meetings, and parties. Time tells you if it is night or day. Time tells you the time.
I always remember the day one of my family members passed away. We were all in his bedroom looking at the heart rate monitor. Praying and hoping he would live another day. We wished he could go outside and watch soccer on the television with me. But it never happened.

Guess what, in that exact moment, my family and I depended on time.

People might not think about the time this way, or really don’t care about it. Since they probably never had a moment that they relied on time. Which is not true, yeah, you heard that right. Let’s take a moment to think about the past. Where you were running late, had a scar which really hurt, or even watching your team trying to score a goal in 2 minutes. In each of
Those times, you relied on time.

So something to take away from today, just remember not everything is going to last forever. Appreciate what you have and enjoy the rest of your life because time is running out.

Some things in life just go unappreciated because they are simply just there. Let’s face it, water is important, a daily human necessity that we simply can’t live without, yet the majority of people still don’t appreciate the presence of water in our daily lives. Throughout the day, we exercise, sometimes even play hours worth of exercise without getting a single sip of water. I've heard students complain of being forced to drink a bland, plain, tasteless liquid, but we also overlook the fact that the liquid we bring in our water bottles may be a privilege. I mean, are you serious? After all those hours of sports, our bodies have been dry and dehydrated, and you don't even make an effort to rehydrate it? These complaints make me wonder what the problem is with drinking water. So, let's talk about how vital water is to our survival as humans. Water is essential to our survival, and we will be lost without it. Water is used by all of the cells, lungs, and tissues to help regulate temperature, stay hydrated, and sustain bodily functions. The more active you are, the more water you need to help replenish the liquid you lost from sweating. For those that believe that pure water is unappealing to drink and a waste of time, water can be used in a variety of ways that do taste great. If you're tired of plain water, lemonade, americanos, fruit drinks, or tea, the possibilities of this one versatile liquid are endless. There are no good reasons to hate water, and we should enjoy it more as human beings. Take a few sips of water the next time you're dizzy or have a fever, and you'll actually feel fine.

Something I think is overlooked/underappreciated are things like birdwatching, or trainspotting, etc. why? Because sometimes, just relaxing and looking at the scenery is fun. With other things to watch like TV Shows, movies, or sports games, they are a bit action-y. But with birdwatching or trainspotting, it’s just a time to relax. Sure, there aren’t many trains here, but you can always go to a park, and just enjoy the scenery. If you can’t go outside, watch a video online, there are a lot to see. I think this is overlooked because most people want to do/see action stuff like movies, tv shows, etc, but no one really takes the time to actually appreciate nature or the outside world. It’s all about being hyped up and trying to be full of life, but sometimes, we just need to take a break and relax

Without it, we cannot survive the heat, and we’ll feel sticky. Especially for people with long hair, it is a must-have. In some ways it gives people an iconic look. For example, Ariana Grande’s ponytail requires hair ties.

In the article, it is mentioned that eating chips will make the author’s next few minutes of life will be great. Just like chips, to me hair ties have the same effect. Particularly in PE it makes the time better.

For some people they are useless pieces of rubber. However, if they really see how Helpful they are, they will be glad that it was invented.

The fact that they come in different sizes, designs and textiles should also be recognized.

In life, there are many small things that help you in numerous ways. For example, a piece of gum. I think that gum is overlooked and underappreciated because people don’t realize how chewing a sugary chewy blob could help you. If you think about it, gum is actually a genius product. It comes in different’ flavors and has many purposes. Gum can cover up your breath when you eating something that leaves a bad smell, like garlic bread. Gum also comes in different flavors like spearmint, watermelon, bubble gum, grape, cinnamon, and many more. I love it when my breath smells like the flavor. There’s just something about it that makes me happy. Gum can also release stress and anxiety, because the sugary flavor somehow controls it. Chewing it also releases some of my stress because I have something else to focus on. I also found it really cool when gum is used for dental care. When I went to the dentist for a check up, she said that I was using one side of my jaw too much, leaving an imbalance in my jawline. So, she recommended chewing gum on the other side of my jaw to balance it out. It worked and everything was back to normal again. Chewing gum could also be without a purpose. You could just simply like the taste of the flavors. There is something satisfying about chewing gum, and it think it is so overlooked and underappreciated.

I’ve played a large variety of different games over the years, mobile games, mmorpgs, indie games etc. Scenes from those games have been living in my mind years since I first experienced them. Sometimes on a rainy day, or when I got particularly bored of my usual selection of games, I would revisit one of the oldies in my library and even though there was always so much content to take in, the things that always drew my attention was the small details.

Those small overlooked details, the barely audible jingle that plays when entering a hostile room, the audible cha-ching! that sounds when an item is purchased, the fluid transitions between the settings screen and the game. They bring back an overwhelming sense of familiarity and surprise as you

lucidly notice it for the first time, even though you know it was always there.

These small features, or the lack of their presence is especially noticeable in lesser quality games wherein sometimes a missing feature that I expect to be there, like a purchasing noise, completely pulls me out of the experience. The tiny details, the small overlooked features are a key component of a good game. A good game can be stylish and with a cool story but if it lacks the details and things in the background, it can feel lifeless. A bad game, with bad textures and a bad story can still feel soulful because it has lots of background things and details going on.

Badminton is really unappreciated. How many of you think Badminton is an easy sport? Well to speak the truth, it’s not. What I’m saying is that, badminton has many key factors that are underrated to the sports community. Badminton is quick, tiring, and cognitively involved. As bias is not included, badminton is a very tiring sport. Players have to constantly run through time and they have little to no time to rest. Every rally involves fast pace thinking and lightning reflexes to drop the shuttle at a certain spot and make it so their opponents can’t receive it. The shuttles also fly at super fast speed, like a table tennis ball being swung across the room. BAM!! You just lost a point. Although it might just seem like a fun and simple sport, it can get really

competitive. Players would get really aggressive if they were down on points, and would have a moment of extra energy exerting from their body as the adrenaline just rushing through their body. Like any other sport, badminton uses the brain. Your peripheral vision, the flick of the wrist, the footwork are all important aspects of this sport. Your brain needs to think fast of where to drop the shuttle in the four corners of the court. You can cut it short or hit it deep. Once while playing, I could barely keep up with the player. It was too fast and my lungs needed a refill that's when suddenly the shuttle drops short. I tried to run back as fast as possible, but I couldn’t make it.

When I was younger, my mom always told me to wear “girl’s colors” clothing. My family would make me wear dresses with colors like purple, pink, yellow, ... They didn’t allow me to wear pants or shirts with color such as blue, green, red, ... These are the colors that they considered as “boy’s color.” Why should color decide a kid’s gender?

When I was in 3rd grade, on my way to school like any other day, wearing a gray shirt and a pair of shorts and sport shoes with my hands in one of my pocket as a habit I always do. Suddenly, I hear whispering from 2 moms saying that “What kind of parents would allow their daughter to wear that kind of clothes?”

Excuse me but ... huh?! What’s wrong with the color gray and shorts? What’s wrong with just a kid wearing what she loves? What’s wrong with a human being themselves?

There’s nothing wrong with all the things that I’m doing.

I understand that parents work hard everyday to raise their children hoping that they will become successful. However, a 8 years old, 20, or 60, we are still human just like everyone else. As humans, we should all have the rights to do what we love and we should be in control of what we choose to wear no matter what our gender, race, or even age is. We all have our own voice, we shouldn’t feel ashamed and insecure about how we choose to live our lives.

Something that I think is unappreciated is volleyball. I think the sport is an amazing sports because it requires a lot more communications than other sports. It requires you to talk to your teammates because you need to be able to work together to make an attack to the other team happen. If you have been to a professional volleyball game, you would hear a lot of shouting and communicating. There is a lot of it because the teams are working together to make an attack happen. They say that teams that communicate the best always win. If you have more communication, then the team would make less mistakes. One more thing is that everyone is really supportive to each other since if you are on a losing streak, then you would feel a lot more down and lose more and more. So thats why people are a lot more supportive to keep the hype up so you wouldn't feel down. I think that is a really amazing thing because it is really cool how people don’t get affected from losing.

Comics is something that I think is underappreciated and overlooked. Reading may be considered boring to a lot of people out there, and to a certain extent, I do agree. Reading long and boring passages and chapters can be quite mind consuming and tiring, but what if there was another way more interesting way of reading, Comics!

Comics are books that revolve all around the pictures to tell its story, with the help of text bubbles and minor narration, it is like reading a movie. When I have free time on my hand, other than playing games or watching TV which have no particular benefits, I focus my time on reading comics about topics that I love, like Sci Fi or Adventure.

Reading is also incredibly important to achieve better language skills. While reading the things you enjoy, you may even be able to pick up on new vocabulary along the way. This is another thing that makes reading so great, it allows you to enjoy what would normally be a very boring vocab lesson in school, and convert it into an exciting story.

Reading comics might not always be the most effective though. In the end, reading words in a book is still the most effective way to learn new vocab, comics are still quite distracting and can take a lot of your time away without you even realizing it. So before reading, I suggest to set a timer and be prepared to stop when your timer is up, as the Comica can get addictive.

I hope in the future that comics are not forgotten by humanity and it can continue to bring joy to people's lives...

Bananas are really underappreciated. In other words, Bananas are underrated. All their usefulness, all their efficiencies, their trickiness, and all the advantages they give you. Now, you might be thinking about the fruit, no, no, I’m talking about the tennis skill: The Banana Forehand. Others call it the Buggy Whip, but in other words, it’s a Banana. Bananas, unlike any other shots, give you the advantage of making your opponent think that you’ve mishit the shot, an unforced error. But little did they know, oh yes, they didn’t, that shot they left out, would eventually enter back into the court, and earn you the point. Man, the satisfaction, the beauty, the hard work, all the factors in that shot, is like all the factors in a delicious, warm, crunchy on the outside and soft on the Inside chocolate chip cookie. Unlike any other shot, the Banana, tricks the opponent after you’ve hit it. If you were to hit other shots, either you hit it really strong, and it becomes a winner, or you have to prepare right after the ball leaves your racket. But unlike the other types of shots in tennis, the Banana is much… dissimilar. WHAM! Goes the hit. You’re down, you’ve got nothing left, you’re unbalanced like an unstable table, and your opponent who is at the net, is just ready to take your shot down. They don’t want to risk it, and your shot looks like it’s an unforced error; out. They leave the ball, but then, with the spin and the technique you put on it, it curves back into the court. A smidge touches the line. What was once thought to be an unforced error, just milliseconds later, ruled out as a winner. Incredibility at its finest. But, beware, not all Bananas end up as expected. Some go out, some turn out to be Buggy Whips, some just have no curve at all, giving the opponent the opportunity to finish it off with a volley. Though it is underappreciated, it is also difficult to commence. All factors add on to the crispy shot; Footwork, forehand movement, wrist, spin, and the position of the opponent. Ending off a match with a Banana forehand would be one of the best, if not the best way to finish off a match. However, it all depends on the player, as they are responsible for their shot to be considered as an error, or a winner.

When things occur too often or too much, we often forget its value and underappreciate it; just like chips. Art too, is found everywhere and seen everywhere. Art can be found in so many places like buildings, streets, and even more. People often tend to pass by without realizing their hidden messages. Art should be appreciated more. Art is simple yet complicated. It requires the skills of observation, creativity, and critical thinking, but art can also art with few strokes. When I passed the art gallery of kindergartners, the artworks would always be messy, unique, or even weird looking like just a pile of scribble. But I was wrong. Each artwork had meanings behind: colors represented their mood, zigzags and crisscrosses were the children's own way of expressing themselves.

As a kid, my parents would always tell me that crying was showing weakness and that I should strengthen up. I would usually never stop sobbing until they physically make me feel better. But because of that, every time I feel like bursting into tears now, I see the disappointment in my parents eyes. I feel judged to express my feelings, I feel embarrassed.

There is honestly nothing to be ashamed of. Crying had turned out to be one of the best coping mechanisms to stress for me. I have learnt to move on, and express what I feel no matter what.

Somehow, during times where I had a bad day, crying actually comes in handy to relieve some feelings. Sometimes it can come up unintentionally, for example putting a bit too much pressure on tipping over a bottle of juice, and how it can be filled up over the top and create a mess on your kitchen counter. Is it really a mess? Probably. Crying is about the same.

But at the end of the day, you can clean it up and leave feeling slightly lighter than before and it is all that really matters. It is okay to cry, crying can be extremely beneficial.

I believe one of the most under appreciated thing in this world is sharing high-fives. I think that high fiving is under appreciated because it is one of the most common actions in our lives we do when we accomplish something together and people just don’t appreciate how valuable it is. In my first year of the middle school soccer team, I was nervous. I made mistakes and was just looking at the ball flying over my head. And I am a person who really enjoys sports. Soccer, to be specific. I always tried, but I started to lose confidence in what I truly enjoyed playing. After making like the 10th mistake of the first practice, I forgot his name but my teammate who was an 8th grader’s hand was waiting for a high five from me. When I high fived him even though we didn’t say anything at all, it felt like he was saying “It’s okay” to me. I really don’t know why but my confidence level instantly boosted up starting next practice. As the season continued and we all got better as a team, we got closer to each other and the high five we share became a form of communication. Sometimes we said “Good job” to each other and sometimes it was just an “It’s okay” high five. Again, high fiving may seem really small and normal but considering the meaning or message behind it, I really think it is one of the most under appreciated things in the world.

Have you ever tried biking at night? If you haven’t you should try that immediately.

I think that biking at night is something that is underappreciated because a lot of people think that it is way better to bike during the day than at night. Even though there might be many benefits to biking during the day, when you bike at night, there aren’t many cars or people, so it’s very quiet and peaceful. During the day, there are cars and people everywhere and it’s very loud. When I bike at night, I feel safe, and no one is making a single noise.

One of my favorite things to do is to go biking at night. During virtual school, I went biking every night with my friend going around my neighborhood. It was so quiet and peaceful. We were talking while biking, and we could hear each other because there were nothing noisy in the background since there are almost no cars.

I’ve learned how to bike no-handed while biking at night because even if I fall, it wouldn’t be as dangerous as when there are millions of cars coming at you.

After biking for a bit, getting a drink and resting for a bit is the best part. The feeling when you sweat a lot from biking and getting a cool drink. You feel fresh. What could be better than this?

Biking during the day is great, but biking at night is safer and more peaceful.
