What helped cause the radio in the 1920s to become so large?

It was magical at the time to have sound that could amazingly travel from lots of miles away. The radio stations would play large amounts of music that many people would listen to. The radio did not start very popular since not a lot of people had radio receivers. Since lots of music, soap operas, and talk shows were playing on the radios, many people got more interested and wanted more radios.

Radios in the 20th century have become obsolete. Most people don't have the physical large radio or even listen to the radio anymore. Most people own small and light smartphones that they can listen to music off of. There are also many apps on these smartphones that let people listen to whatever they want. One of those apps is spotify, you can listen to any music you want. People don't really listen to radios anymore because you can't choose what you listen to. People like the freedom of smartphones where you can choose whatever you want to listen to.

What large impacts did radios have in the 1920s?

Radios in the 1920 brought many people together with all of their broadcasts. People would have parties with people just so they could get together and listen to radios. Youths would dance together to the latest songs on the radio, preachers would preach their sermons on the radio. What really impacted it was that when a breaking news story happened, everyone knew right away because of the radio broad cast. The large impact the radio brought to the 1920s was it brought people together and it also kept people informed on what was going on.

Again, most people in the 20th century don't really listen to the radio. If someone wanted to listen to music they could do it on their phone. If someone wanted to know some big event that happened, they could pull out their iPhone, go on google, and look it up. Radios are still used now a days, but they are mostly just in cars and still aren't used very often since there are now cords that you can plug into your car to play music off your phones.

What are some heros and examples of who or what made radios so popular in the 1920s?

KDKA first transmitted the commercial broadcast and at first, not a lot of people heard it because not a lot of people have radio receivers. As they continued to broadcast and add things to their station, many more people started listening. After a while, there were thousands of stations with many different things to listen to. Since radio was becoming so popular since that first broadcast from KDKA, the demand for radios increased dramatically. One of the first shows aired was Amos 'n' Andy, a show about two African Americans that were depicted as morons. KYW also started playing only opera songs which started the trend for focused on one type of genre channels.

There are many things that were invented since the radio that has since overcome it. One example is the TV. In the 1920s people would listen to the radio for the shows, music, and sometimes ads. Since the TV has came out, it does all of that, but also gives a visual representation of what their talking about. People like the visuals better so instead of listening to their shows, they would watch them. Another thing that replaced the radio is the smartphone. The smartphone has all the capabilities of the TV except smaller, portable, and has more features. What people liked more about radios then TVs is that they were more portable. Now the smartphones is like the ultimate TV and radio combination and that's why people like it more and use it more then radios.
